Congrats on the high score! It is great that you enjoyed the game. It is always nice to hear that, thank you :)

Glad to hear that :)

Thank you! The local high score is saved in browser's local storage, global high score is saved on a server.

Thank you! I also wish I had something like this at school :)

Thank you for playing! The low res wild card is definitely not on purpose. Base resolution of the game is 480x270 and the wildcard looks ugly because we had to scale it down to fit and we didn't have enough time to figure out a better solution. We will probably remove it in the next update as you suggest.

Music is from here: https://alkakrab.itch.io/

Thank you for playing and for such a praise!

I like the atmosphere. Even knowing there are 4 collectibles I only ever managed to find the keys. Nice experience overall. And yes, 1985 was a very good year :)

Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you for both the praise and for the critique! As I said in one of the previous comments, the theme drifted away into background during development :( Erasing tiles was the original idea but it turned out not to be as strong as we hoped.

I wrote most of the code during the jam. I reused some utility classes that I wrote for previous projects, like settings and high score serializers. All code related to the game mechanics was made from scratch.

Thank you for playing!

It is quite easy to get to a situation where it is impossible to place some shape. There is a "SKIP" button in the lower left corner. It will skip the current shape and you can continue with the game.

In the typing wizard, once I did not make it in time and twice I had everything correctly (green) but it wasn't accepted. I guess it has to do with the line endings. I wasn't sure how to switch to the next line so I probably inserted some extra space or newline somewhere...

Thank you for playing. I am glad you liked it! :)

Thank you for playing, for the praise, and also for the feedback!

You are right about the randomness. It would be better if the order of shapes were a little bit more predictable or if player could somehow influence it. But how exactly? It is something to think about.

I really need to look at the Balatro game. Never heard of it before and twice already today :)

Chests, settings and local score is in the user:// directory so they are in your browsers local storage.

Global score is stored/retrieved from my server using http requests.

What a nice smooth gameplay. Even wall running! Nice touch adding a storyline :) Great submission!

Thank you for playing and for the feedback! About seeing score on a certain tile: Try to hover mouse over the "current score" in the top right corner. It should show you current score of each tile. Is that what you were looking for?

Thats it! Thank you :)

Same as others, I struggled a bit with the controls. Not knowing where to click to refill the color and all my work being constantly erased :) Then I bought a better tool in the shop and then an auto pen and then it became a completely different game :)

Gamedev is hard. I can see all the potential ideas that you probably wanted in the game. If only there was enough time, right? :)

Wow, just beautiful!

Amazing visuals. I had absolutely no clue what I was doing during first few playthroughs and the world collapsed almost immediately. Then I figured it out and then it quickly became repetitive. Anyways, great submission!

Very well done and amazingly polished game!

Thank you! The game was supposed to be about erasing tiles and than building something from them. But as the development went, the theme became less and less obvious and faded away... you could say the theme was erased from the game? :)

Played several times, tried everything, always got stuck on the ceiling :) Press button, don't press button, pick up things, throw things... I could use a hint :)

Such a high praise, I don't know what to say. Thank you!

What an amazing, unique, bold choice of visuals!

You nailed the theme :-) But I do not get it otherwise. Why choosing a name? Why there are three erasers? Am I missing something or were they planned features that didn't make it to the final version?

I like the idea. The game was a bit quirky and it took me a while to get used to the controls. It would be nice to be able to tell which line is yours and which is your opponents. Nice title screen btw :-)

Nice atmosphere, sounds and visual effects. I am so bad at these minigames, I didn't manage to erase even a single file :-D

Beautiful art, addictive gameplay. I got all upgrades in the first level before realizing there is an arrow pointing to the portal :)

Nice game. Unfortunately, it essentially became a wordle game for me :)

I didn't know how to earn money for first two runs, until I looked up Balatro :) I didn't know why I lost the game until the third run. I didn't figure out how to use jokers, I thought that they would count as any card, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I am not able to earn more than $30 before I hit the trick card and there are so many cards and only three guesses... I feel like I am missing something.

Nice graphics and good music choice.

Nice game. I like the scene transition effects, writing and voiceover :)

Thank you both for playing. We are so glad you liked it :)

Thank you!

Thanks for playing! There is currently no option to review new tiles once the level starts. It could be useful for sure.

Nice little game! I played several times and it is quite difficult. I never got very far. I like how the projectiles are synchronized with the music. This gets less noticeable as there are more and more enemies on the screen at the same time.

Suggestions for small improvements:

- auto-focus the retry button so I can just press enter and not have to use mouse between runs

- add some time counter or score so I can see how far I managed to get

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

The yellow key is meant as a way to lure the player to the left shelf and on the bookshelf where the recipe is hidden. The other items you mentioned have no use at all. We added them just in case and haven't used them in the end...

Nice art style. Fade out transitions could be shorter and the game could be longer :) I had to fall into the pit on purpose to learn how you interpreted the game jam theme. I like it.
