Thanks for taking the time to play and leave detailed feedback, I really appreciate it.
A lot of what you mentioned comes down to how the game expects players to learn its systems, and I completely understand how that can feel overwhelming early on. The economy and difficulty are heavily tied to mechanics like max HP, armour, and overkill bonuses, which aren’t always obvious on a first run. If those aren’t discovered early, it can definitely feel like enemies scale too fast while the player can’t keep up.
The game is designed so that learning and experimentation are a big part of progression, which is why there’s a tutorial and also a 2-Player mode that acts as a sandbox where you can freely practice trying every weapon, special, and armour piece without risk. That said, I can see how the game could do a better job nudging new players toward those learning tools instead of assuming they’ll be used.
Regarding the UI and font clipping, that’s useful to know. Scratch can sometimes fall back to a different font depending on browser or settings, which can cause text to clip, but I agree that the settings menu in particular should be clearer and is something I’ll look into improving. The mouse vs keyboard feedback is also fair, and I’ll think about how to make the control scheme feel more consistent.
Thanks again for the feedback. Even when the experience doesn’t click for someone, comments like this help highlight where the game can communicate its ideas better.
Thanks so much for featuring my game on stream! I’m glad you had fun playing it. I wasn’t able to catch the stream live, but I got some free time to watch the full thing afterwards. I just wanted to share a few quick tips that might help if you ever play again (I hope you do)!
Reading the tutorial is important if you want to fully understand how the game works. It covers things like the controls and navigating menus, but you’ll mostly learn by playing.
1. Economy hack! The amount of money you earn depends entirely on how much HP you have and how far you overkill your opponent into the negatives (that’s what the “negatives bonus” is for!). Even if you don’t play perfectly, keeping a decent amount of HP each battle will let you rack up money quickly. One of the most important things: before buying any weapon or special, try to save up for some good armour first. Armour increases your max HP, which means you’ll earn even more money as a bonus!
2. Use 2-Player mode as a practice tool Even though 2-Player mode is meant for PvP and competitive play, you can also use it as a sandbox to experiment! You have access to every item in the game, with no goofy ahh bot to take away money. Test how different weapons, specials, and armour combos work without worrying about losing progress. It’s a great way to learn advanced mechanics—like aiming projectiles or practicing movement—so when you jump back into normal battles, you’ll have a big edge!
3. Auto-lock on opponents! If you hold W and S at the same time, your character will auto-lock on the opponent. It’s not required to play the game, but it helps a lot when using projectiles or aiming abilities—especially in 2-Player battles or competitive matches.
Thanks again for playing and sharing the game—it really means a lot! I hope these tips make your next run even more fun.

Hey, thanks so much for taking the time to try out the Ongoing version! I really appreciate your feedback. I’m glad to hear you felt a bit more comfortable with the controls this time.
I will consider adding an option to toggle between tap-to-rotate (classic) and hold-to-rotate, so players can pick whichever style feels best. I think it’ll make the game more approachable without losing the chaotic charm.
As for the shops, I actually really like this idea! This'll definitely ease up progression while making it more fair for new players, and also giving experienced players a sense of discovery as they gradually unlock new items and strategies throughout the game.
Really glad you’re enjoying the progress, and I hope you stick around for future updates! Your feedback is super helpful.
Hey there! 👋
It’s been a while since the jam, but I just wanted to pop in and say that Magical Armageddon has come a long way since then! It’s way less punishing now, with new items, specials, a 2-Player mode, and you can now save your progress!
Also — I put your feedback about the controls and camera into consideration
You can now customize the controls and turn off camera spinning if you want things a bit smoother!
If you ever feel like giving it another shot, I’d love to hear what you think of the new version! (Ongoing Version)

Thanks so much for the feedback! You’re absolutely right—once you’ve gathered some resources, there isn’t much incentive to keep going. I didn’t have enough time during the jam to add more content or balance the progression properly. After the jam, I’m planning to add more items, reasons to build (like chests or crafting stations), and better overall balance. I really appreciate you playing!
Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! You're totally right—the terrain generation is procedural, and I definitely noticed how chaotic it can get with the cliffs. I didn’t have enough time during the jam to smooth things out or add proper pathfinding for mobs, but it’s something I’d love to refine in a post-jam update or sequel. I’m really glad you see potential in the idea!
