The Legend of Athea is a mix between a breakout-style game and a strategy game. There is also some hands on action mixed in to keep the player always engaged. The main gameplay is that there is a battle between your army and the enemy army. Throughout the battle a fireball is flying around the battlefield, hurting everything in it's path. You must use your magic shield to reflect it or it will destroy the defences you have built up.

-8 Stages to battle on. 

-Unlock new buildings and units. 

-Action gameplay mixed with managment and strategy gameplay. 

-Lots of options for different strategies. -Unique giant bosses for every stage. 

-A story-based campaign involving multiple fantasy lands. -Game saves after each battle. -About 1-2 hours in length.

-Easy and Normal Difficulty Options.

The Legend of Athea v1.0.3 Update

-Fixed the exit to world map glitch, making the game unplayable.

Note: If your game version is v1.0.2, the game has a gamebreaking glitch and you will need to update to v1.0.3.

Just wanted to give one final update on the game. The game has been play tested and is ready for release! I am just waiting on the music and I will release the game. Thank you all for your patience and your feedback along the way! 

The full game will now include post game content! On beating the campaign, you will unlock an endless mode! This mode has you select 6 buildings from the game to use and see how long you can survive!


Athea is the heroine of the game! She is the sole guardian of her homeland Valel. Her older brother, once a guardian of Valel with her, vanished two years ago. Her strengths include her unmatched tactical abilities, adaptibility, and confidence. She is an incredible leader but is no slouch in melee combat either. She fights with her trusty spear and magical shield that is said to defend against any weapon. She has defended her homeland from rock giants and raids that threaten her people. 

World map is done! I really like how it turned out!

The game is getting oh so close to completion! I'm really just working on a few aesthetic things and then it will be ready to go!

I did adjust a lot of the unit/building powers so those posts above have been updated to reflect the changes.

Last set of buildings! The game is nearing completion!


Demolitionist:

These units strike the ground with their hammers damaging everything nearby.


Mine:

All adjacent unit special abilities are activated 20% faster (doesn't stack).

Shaman:

These units shoot mini fireballs that damage everything they touch.

Totem:

All adjacent units gain +1 attack (doesn't stack).


Rider:

These units have faster speed than regular units.


Market:
Lowers the cost to of buildings.

Samurai:

These units get a shield that blocks projectiles and lessens the damage taken from fireballs.


Shrine:
Every unit in the same column gains +1hp. Shoots out a healing wave.

Here is a new boss for the game. Queen Serpents are found in the Kingdom of Prysala. These giant serpents lead a nest of Fire Serpents that can burn down entire towns and villages.

Catapults: 

 These units shoot projectiles that damage a large area.

Farm: 

These buildings give you more resources but take time to grow.

Ice Wolves live in the Kingdom of Norirk. These wolves, made of of ice and snow, freeze their prey and drag them into the snow where they become ice zombies.

Danger has struck Pandaland! A giant monster is attacking! Legends say that whenever danger comes to Pandaland, a panda warrior has come to save the day! However, this time no warrior has appeared. Now you, just a regular panda, must train to become the legendary warrior!

Pandaland is an colorful action/rpg where you battle enemies and collect items to increase your stats. The game plays like an action platformer, but as you collect different fruit you will powerup. You can also collect coins to buy helpful items and new weapons. You can play each of the worlds in any order sort of like a Mega Man game; giving you freedom to explore Pandaland as you choose. There is also a lot of optional lore to the story for those that like that sort of thing. Ultimately, this is a passion project of all of the reasons I love video games.

Well that's bummer. Thanks for answering my question though! I think it would be a lot more helpful to change the name to "feedback" instead of "review". Otherwise I think people will keep leaving "reviews" instead of "comments."

Can even followers see them? I just see some people put a lot into them and its a shame if no one gets to see them. Plus its incredibly helpful in such a crowded landscape.

Is there a way to bring back deleted comments? I deleted a few in what became a conversation that just was between two of us(To try and declutter), but I want the last comment. Anyway now it looks bad with just deleted comments and a final one at the bottom. Is there any way to bring them back? Thanks!

Can people see the reviews people leave for your game? I don't see anywhere for them to see them. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Shootski's biggest strength for me is the unique powerup system that lets you charge shot enemies for new temporary abilities. It's a really fun game mechanic and helped the game stand out for me. Also covering the levels in slime as you defeat enemies is really fun!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to update you all on how the project is going! I am planning on making a new devlog each week just updating you on the project and what is currently being worked on. Right now we are working on our second demo! This will be more than one level this time! Yay! The plan is to give you a few levels to explore and play around in to see what you think! We are also fixing various aspects of the game based on your comments from the first demo. Have something that you feel would be better fixed? Now is your chance to let us know! We are planning to release this second demo on August 31st! 

This week I have worked a lot on the level design of these demo levels. I think that they have turned out nicely and are looking good! Hopefully more enemies will be programmed soon and we can those guys living in the levels. Check out the images and see what you think!

I am currently working on the save and load system. One thing we want to do is have the game save some random aspects. One of those things are the fruits you collect that increase your stats. To increase replay value we wanted to make some of the fruits random each time you play. This way the fruits will be in the same places but won't be the same fruits each time you play. I really want to make customizing your character a main aspect of the game and I think it will be fun to encourage you to play different each time.


Hey all! I have been working on a three part project called Score Attack Ninja. I love old nes/arcade style games and these games are all about getting a high score. The idea is instead of defeating all of the enemies or getting to the end of the level, you clear a level by reaching a certain score. This makes it all the more fun to collect points and be strategic about which enemies you defeat as some give more or less points. 

The first game is designed as a top down action game where you have a space to move in and you defeat enemies that appear.

The third game is going to be more about collecting things in a maze style game.

Each game regardless of style finishes each level with an exciting boss fight to mix up game play!

Hey everyone! I made a video game called Score Attack Ninja! The idea for this game is to be an 8-bit nes style arcade game. I grew up loving weird japanese-style nes games and I miss games that were simply about getting the high score. My goal for this game was to make getting a high score fun again and made the score how you clear levels so you want to get points.
