shooting here feels just right, although I believe that the reload thing might be too much, you are already going high speed trying to shoot as many red guys as possible, might be just skill issue from my part but I just can't focus on the next type of bullet, also love the vibes

game bugged like 4 times when I picked cards that draw other cards, also I reached day 10 but I thought there were 7 days? idk if it has an ending, still the visual and audio aspect is awesome, it really looks like a polished game pretty cool
Also if you spam the "talk" or "tips" button in the store the text collapses but I like to think that the devil on the background speaks to you in his native language, pretty cool stuff
really enjoyed it, went with the popular backstory, my idea was to go with dexter but as soon as the game reminded me that lisa was going to stay until later in the store I just couldn't leave her there alone, tbh this never happened to me I always just pick choices out of curiosity in visual novels and text adventures but I really felt driven by this one, really inmersive experience, surprisingly inmersive, be sure I will try the other personalities and friends
it's a bit sad to see this has such few ratings cause people aren't usually into this kind of games (myself included) but you did such a great job, loved it from start to the end
Yeah now that you mention it I should have gone with something like that, or maybe not have lives at all and every new card becomes a checkpoint. I was trying to make some fun and crazy experience, not really a hard game, so that's some really good feedback right there for the next time (or maybe even a post jam update)
To be honest, that "auto mode" when you draw kinda happened to me when I was writing the lore pieces of our jam game, and even when coding. I guess it happens when you do the part that you enjoy the most.
Love to see how you evolved as a game developer in general from this project, now it seems incredible to think that Where's Matcha is your very first solo game, I remember struggling a lot my first time with UI and web builds (and of course screen size), but you really made it work in 1 week, that's awesome
Yeah the difficulty was something that worried me a lot cause I don't see people giving more than two or three tries to this, there was gonna be no lives at the beginning, then I thought of a mechanic that would give you one life for every clean guess but I thought it would be too easy that way so I stayed on this middle ground, hope it didn't get too hard!
Also the animations and such were something I was wanting to play with for a long time since everything I've coded until now has been platformers, so it's good to have a change for once and see that it didn't go that wrong after all
Thanks for playing vicky!!!!
It's crazy how many creatures you guys were able to draw in these two weeks. I really enjoyed reading the descriptions (always liked this kind of stuff).
I actually find the lack of tutorial as part of the inmersion, since it is supposed to be some kind of strange and unknown magic, right? Although it was hard to find the sidebar with the inventory.
I would have loved to see some kind of ending to maek the gameplay meaningful, or at least a progression, like unlocking the diary entries as you hatch the eggs.
Anyway, although the gameplay feels a bit repetitive, the presentation and art greatly compensates it. Well done!
I really love the main characters, the dialogue defines them so much you can just see how they live their lives right away, it really shows the love you have for them (they were your first OCs iirc right?)
I would have loved to see the number of times you had to move the goods in order to complete the level, I think I got a few strategies to reduce the movements (I went for 3 levels per character) and I believe the fun part is solving them doing as few movements as possible more than doing it fast.
The art and the plot are awesome!!!!! Love the cute style, it matches so much with the characters
I love to see that you took it kinda like a horror game lol I was actually going for the goofy side, then in the Ingrediopedia I tried to mix a bit of everything, I tried to make the Ieao Uaei something alien and disgusting, something wholesome with Love and Matcha and then I tried humor with Larry, all of it in an attempt of relating every entry with apples and pears (although pears ended up getting more of a side story)
Also I still have to try your game for this jam!!! Hope I got time to play it today
Yeah I loved the dialogue idea since your last jam entry (the cat dressing game)
Actually I was thinking of having one of Euri's familiars as ingredients, we wanted them to become as crazy as possible, but maybe having his uncle in a cake was too much lol
Hope you liked the game!!!!! Glad to see you commenting here Nassi!!
