Very cool fairy tale that I had never heard of. I think RPing (or avoiding) the animals brings a lot of choice and fun RP potential to the adventure!

Creepy and whimsical - really captures the fairy-tale vibe for me. While a linear three-act module, there are a lot choices and possible outcomes which makes it a great one-shot. Noice stuff!

Aesthetically wonderful, it fits right in with the official TKG module. I really appreciate friendly/hostile encounters as it’s a great way to mix in some spooky RP.

Wonderful little bestiary and art.! I like how the writing plays into being a guide for travellers. Sweet!

I really love the art and atmosphere! Like others mentioned, the text is super interesting but pretty dense for a tri-fold. My only real suggestion would be to throw in a quick “what’s going on” summary so the DM can get the gist of the story at a glance.

Thanks for the review @EveVSEvil!

Some time during the writing I changed how many villagers were alive/transformed/dead. I thought the village might initially appear abandoned which is how the ghost town/village line slipped through. Whoops! I’ll amend for final release.

I was thinking that some group of villagers would still be around to reward the players. I’ll make it a bit more explicit in the happily ever after section.

Added FISSION SWAMP-V1.1-grayscale.pdf which removes the backgrounds and many of the darker elements.

Yes - I can add a text-only version this weekend.

I really like the look of the map and the whole atmosphere of the module.

Some of text is a bit tricky for me to read:

  • I think the two column panels by the map could use a dark background to help the text standout from the background (similar to the first page).
  • The what happened on Elsinor III section could use a tad of right margin

The homogen hits a creepy sweet spot for me.

Ambient soundtrack AND character portraits!!! (extra credits)

The organism table is really cool for creating unique monsters. The green highlight on some the text might be a bit too faint - I had to strain my eyes a bit to read it. I like that the module has several elements that escalate overtime such as the integration tracker and the awareness table.

Looks great! I really like the escalating plot danger. I find the “Helping Hands” section to be a bit hard to read due to the small sized text.
