The art in this game is awesome I love the cutout look of the enemies and player, it really gives the game its own personality and is very clean! The difficulty didn't seem to ramp up to much for me, and the spawn rate of the souls felt a biiiiiit low, but honestly, it was super fun and I could've probably gone playing longer! Thanks for hosting and loved it!
I love the nintendo 64 vibe with the music and art, super cool! Not having any animations or sprites did make it feel a bit off, and I don't really understand the soul trade here. Am I trading my soul, enemy souls, am I getting more mana or power, etc. But honestly, the gameplay actually was pretty fun, and I like the abilities you came up with! Keep up the good work!
Honestly, I love the attention you put into the tutorial and making sure the player understood as much about the game as possible. The artwork was looking a bit off, mostly because it seems you used assets from different sources using different sizes, so make sure in the future to try and keep the artstyle/sizing the same to make it more consistent! It also seems the game suffered from a bit of scope creep, as power-ups broke the game pretty easily, so try to keep mechanics and features as small as possible to be able to polish them all! Also, I do love the player sprite and animations. Good job on getting this up and keep up the good work!
Super fun gameplay. Honestly a great marriage between theme and gameplay, and well implemented to boot. I did get a bit confused by the jump at first but once I understood it was a charged jump it became clearer. As another commentor said, a charge meter would be perfect. Also some soundeffects for gameplay feedback! Keep up the good work!
Loved the game! Especially for your first one! Gameplay is honeslty solid. Just needs some tweaking, like maybe make the shield a cooldown so it can't be held up the whole time. Also love the story aspect to it! Keep it up! Another note, sometimes the enemies would just walk off and die at the start of a section :p Great work!
