Many thanks! I'll be updating the rest of the campaign beyond the kickstart shortly. The Battle of New York will follow soon after.

After 35 years of playtesting and tweaking, Phoenix Role-Playing System is finally seeing public daylight. There will be additions, and possibly a tweak or two, but this IS the basic ruleset: https://oedemark.itch.io/phoenix-rps

From the get-go, I wanted to create a system that works in any situation - from Conan to Shadowrun, from Star Trek to The Sandman. And literally anything and everything in between, or all of them meshed up. In a way that is realistic, or failing that, as reasonable as possible.

I believe this is it.

I will later publish a ruleset for magic (Hermetic magic, Shamanism, Deism, Psychomancy and Omoekaze-ka, the latter being wuxia-style magic), a ruleset about spacetravel and vehicle combat, and a ruleset about information networks and cybernetics.

I might also publish some of the worlds we've created along the way. If you want an easy way to try it, it's also the engine behind my MCU heroine game (MAAL): https://oedemark.itch.io/maal-heroine-origin-story

I'll be asking a modest sum for it, mostly because I want those who look at it be serious, not just leave it somewhere on their hard drive. And because I believe it's definitely worth it.

Check it out, try it. Let me know what you think.

As it turns out, I see 30 downloads – but only one guy has given me any feedback on it (and that was after I pointed it out on Reddit). Are people just downloading it and letting it gather proverbial dust on their computers? Or just not bothering to comment here?

I'd very much appreciate comments on it, love it, hate it, how you'd like it changed. Truthful rather than nice.

Thanks in advance. ;-)

Greetings,

I've been developing Phoenix RPS for more than 30 years now - it's based on just d20's, the only dice you'll need at the table. You need several though. And no, you don't need to add them up.  :-)

I've been using it in medieval worlds, scifi settings, with magic and dragons, and cybernetics and pretty much everything. However for purposes of showcasing it here, I weaved into a campaign for teenage superheroes in Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can find the campaign starter package here, including the rules for emerging superpowers suitable for the campaign: https://oedemark.itch.io/maal-heroine-origin-story

Go get, and get your players to survive both school and deal with their emerging powers just in time for Battle of New York. And let me know what you think.

Finally, it's here: the quickstart of my TTRPG on Marvel Cinematic Universe, just before the Battle of New York. Teenage heroes, emerging superpowers, real life conflicting with MCU strangeness, it's all here. Two ready-made characters, but you're free to change them or create new ones as you want.

The set is dripping with Marvel IP, so it' free to download. Not looking to make any money out of this. But I'd love to hear your thoughts, how it works, and anything that is amiss.

Want to play emerging teenage superheroines/heros in Manhattan, just before and including the events of the Avenger movie? Here's your chance.

This is a pre-release of the TTRPG set in Manhattan in February 2012, three months before the Battle of New York. The player handbook is attached and free to download, I'll be updating this with the rest of the documentation in the coming days or weeks.

How fast depends on feedback I'm getting - so if you're interested in trying this fully, or seeing how this scopes out, leave a comment, give me a follow, etc. Knowing there's a demand makes me prioritise time to release this faster. Also works for the complete first season (up to and beyond the Battle of New York, and the PC's part in that.

And just FYI: Since this is eyeballs deep in Disney/Marvel IP, all of this will be free to download and use. If you want to drop me a dime for the effort I'll be grateful, but it's not needed to download or play this.

The game itself is 90% mine though. Avengers and other MCU characters feature as cameos, focus is on the players.

Find the game here: https://oedemark.itch.io/maal-heroine-origin-story

I posted the Chapter Two of the Emberborn novel - runs on your browser, no charge (since I'm using this as a rewrite of my original book).  Catch it here: https://oedemark.itch.io/emberborn-chapter-two-drinks-at-sundown

If you're new to the series, you can start with the prologue in here: https://oedemark.itch.io/emberborn-prologue-adora

The first chapter of my scifi/fantasy novel rewrite is done. You can find it here: https://oedemark.itch.io/emberborn-chapter-one-a-final-farewell

Essentially, it's a story of the bond between people: Lucio, a spacefaring mystic, and Zhoya, a free-willed spaceship captain. In the novel, in Zhoya's homeworld of Kesh, that bond will be tested like never before. And, every word is mine. No AI creation included except for the html code. If you read through it, let me know what you thought. If you decide to drop a dime or two, much appreciated.

If you haven't, you should read the prologue first: https://oedemark.itch.io/emberborn-prologue-adora

I wrote a scifi/fantasy novel some time back, and soon after publishing it on Amazon decided to rewrite it. Hence, the new prologue to the book, which you can now find here: https://oedemark.itch.io/emberborn-prologue-adora

Since it's just text - I tried to liven it up with some browser background effects, but still - images are hard to come by. So I'll use the same as in the project itself.

Give it a whirl, let me know what you think.

Hi all,

I'm new here, so please bear with me. :-)

I've long been wondering whether it's possible to make a LLM actually run real RPG's. Here's my attempt at that, in what hopefully is a stable format: The story of a senior SHIELD agent (you!) during the events of the first Iron Man movie.

You can find it here: https://oedemark.itch.io/operation-ironwatch

It does require an API key to one of the major LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Mistral) in order to work.

Give it a whirl - I'd be happy to hear any kind of feedback.
