I had never heard of that game till now, looks interesting and I can see the resemblance! And thank you, glad you enjoyed the sound design in particular.

And yeah, we definitely need to do some work on the controls, especially on keyboard. That is some good feedback, much appreciated!

Loved the visuals and general aesthetic of this. The beach is genuinely beautiful, especially the colors for the ground/sky. Sadly the camera was really nauseating for me- having it smoothly move after the mouse instead of just being 1:1 made it super uncomfortable. If that were fixed I'd have enjoyed my time with this a lot more- but still, very good work overall. I would love to see this idea expanded upon in some way.

The visuals, especially the use of lighting, are so effectively done! Also was blown away by how many different environments you managed to pack into this. I think the parking garage was my favorite little moment.

Unfortunately I found the game to be very motion-sickness inducing (though I am maybe a bit sensitive to that, lots of first-person games make me motion sick..) I think the main culprit was not being able to turn Motion Blur off (I tried clicking 'Options' at the start but it didn't seem to open anything?)

Overall, very polished and interesting, despite those issues.

You nailed the liminal vibe for sure! The "store" itself felt like something straight out of a dream.

This is really interesting. The sluggish movement and strange audio contribute to an almost "fever dream"-like mood. Strange and tense all around.

Enjoyed my time with this a lot! Unfortunately didn't manage to get very far- that arcade aesthetic in the screenshots looks so cool, so I'll have to give this another go soon and see if I can find it.

I particularly like the inventory system, and how the lighting slowly grows more sinister as your sanity depletes. And that goop looks delicious!! Totally worth the sanity cost 😝 Also those random sound cues really messed with me the first few times. Great work all around!

(Oh, a few small notes: I got a Unity error any time I used the Run button in the game, but restarting seemed to make that go away. Also, my mouse sensitivity never seemed to update no matter how many times I changed the setting)

Ah thank you! The grungy textured look was a big experiment for me, quite a departure from what I'm used to.

Thank you so much!! Yeah, it's a surprisingly long game for something made in 5 weeks. Pretty blown away with what our level designer Dustin was able to accomplish.

We made the game itself in GameMaker Studio, and all the prerendered 3d models were done in Blender.

This is such a cool spin (pun intended) on the backrooms thing. Spent a good bit of time driving around, got chased by a bacteria, smashed into a wall. Fun stuff!

Oh WOW. I found myself absolutely mesmerized by this. The environments are so simple but effectively done. The lighting, atmospheric fog, and music contribute to such an overwhelming dream-like vibe. Fantastic work!!!

The ambient audio for the lights is really well done, really helps set the mood. The camera bobbing while running was a bit motion-sickness inducing though!

This is wonderful, I really enjoyed this! Thank you for making it. Can't believe you played the whole thing in one sitting, that's so awesome.

The "89 out of 100 Levels Completed"  displaying is definitely a bug! Thank you for finding that, I'll fix that soon.

I subscribed, keep up the great work! :)

Here's my game Flowerdrops! It's a cute & simple puzzle game where you grow flowers with bouncy water drops. It's got a very chill atmosphere and tons of things to discover.
