I LOVE WINTER! I play piano, guitar, and bass, and I love to compose what I like to call slice of life! It's not quite ambient, nor is it strictly lofi, but its just things i daydreamed up on my instruments, whether that be classical, jazz, or rnb-- I am really open to making anything! This jam sounds right up my alley, so please let me know if anyone or any team is looking for some original cozy music, and here is a cozy song I made a couple weeks ago called "don't forget your mittens!" Happy jamming!:)

I just stumbled across this jam and thought the concept was really cool! Who doesn't love a retro throwback! I play piano and bass, and enjoy composing/playing jazz and classical tunes. I'm open to any genres, I just saw names like Cole Porter and Duke Ellington, who is one of my favorite musicians, and I feel like we should have something jazz oriented in this theme! I am also open to singing as well! If you would like to hear some things I create it is on spotify or apple music under the name mylo vanna! and my instagram is sa._lami!
cheers to everyone!
heyo, I am looking to make some dramatic romantic era music for someone's game! i love making jazz, orchestral and piano music, so just let me know! i've done a few game jam soundtracks before and post everything else under the name mylo vanna on streaming platforms! If needed, I am also down to do singing ( can also be found on spotify or apple music!)
thank you so much for the feedback! I'm happy that the chamber of reflection got you to think- it was a spontaneous improvisation at the piano and I just went wherever it felt like it needed to go! It wasn't necessarily meant to sound as pretty or as cohesive as the other seasons channeling the unexpected outcomes of winter. Also thank you so much for calling out the return of spring in a heartbeat! I am so so sooo glad someone mentioned it. I wanted there to be an incredibly subtle change between the first track that doesn't quite allow people to tell the different nor the similarities at the same time... they aren't quite able to put their finger on it, but it signifies the ending of the game and a full circle moment. Spring in a heartbeat, is inspired by the drama When Life Gives you Tangerines, I wanted to change up that feeling that although spring offers a sense of renewal and beginning, it could very well also mean the end of something. The only difference between the first and last song is the bass line. As a bass player I love how just changing that alone can change the entire trajectory of a tune. It definitely does feel more full, a bit heavy, and a bit tense at some moments, and I wanted it to feel a bit unsettling but also bring resolution. I also do wanna work on my mixing, and combining those vsts and acoustic instruments, because at some parts I feel like the winds are doing too much, or I want to lay more dynamics within the piano, or change the sound of the harp. Sometimes the melody does fall into the background which I do wanna fix! Thanks so much for the feedback, I will take it into account in my future pieces of music:)!!!
Thank you thank you!! Definitely gotta work on mixing and mastering, it's not something I'm used to since I just play piano and record it straight up from my phone and that's it! I feel like in some tracks it does provide that homey minimal background noise feel, but I also feel like it's something I should pay more attention to when transitioning songs, and mixing virtual and acoustic instruments:). And omg I've gotta go listen to your submission, I'm excited to hear it!
Thanks so much for your comment and your feedback!! Petals has to be one of my favorite ones to make- I was walking around campus looking for a piano to play on that had an aged, slightly crunchy sound and found it in petals! I definitely want to try out some more orchestral stuff in the future, and I'm glad there are more fans of my favorite videogames and shows:D! I didn't quite catch what you meant on the second song but were you saying you could hear the difference in the audio recordings and the VST really clearly? Should I work on mixing them more? I'm open for any tips you've got:)
Absolute cinema! I felt that same magic and nostalgia I get from studio ghibli soundtracks, that feel like life is worth living! You've made an amazing three tracks that sound so so so familiar and comforting, and I kinda feel like I am literally the mail deliverer! Slice of life was the perfect way to describe it!
Hey, give yourself more credit in the description!! This is so awesome, first of all i love the pixel cover art, and I really love the first track, I listened at least 5 times already! It does certainly give off village vibes and I instantly thought of cozy games like zelda, and animal crossing. Its amazing!! And the second track has a nostalgic feel I love that too.
hey your submission was really cool! I think the first track definitely has to be my favorite. Even before I read your description about how it fits the theme and its relation to the sea, I definitely felt like i was on the water myself. I love how it's quietly cinematic, and then incredibly epic!! It shows adventures, undertones of uncertainty, and triumph. I love when everything falls out and its just piano, its so awesome! And star shower feels so magical!! Feels like we are sailing the stars, or something out of mario galaxy! Okay okay, I really love this soundtrack props to you, I can't wait to see your work in a game for real!!
i appreciate you sharing your thoughts, thanks for the feedback! I wished to try something a little different- like taking something technical like piano and using it in harmony with the inner workings of a device. I didn’t want electronic on electronic and really wanted to make the theme of tiny world shine through by recording that one instrument live. The first song pretty much drones on one happy sounding major chord, excluding some unsettling undertones happening in the later half of the song. I wanted to hint at something inevitably going wrong, like no matter how many tasks you complete successfully, the corruption of the device still happens at the end without fail. I also hoper for it to be simplistic so it could also be an immersive experience with focus on the task and educational material in the game. Glad you enjoyed the gameplay, I did too:)!!!
