Thank you! For now "prepare for battle" has no real meaning yet, but it will be after next update when jam is finished. For now it's impossible to tell that each creatue has it's own behavior (you would be able to see and change it when pressing the skull icon). Many things would be added, so if you liked the demo, i hope you would like the update even more!

Thanks for review! Yeah, game was designed to be very hard so it's expected from player to struggle a lot! It's supposed to convey the feeling of the final battle in the long game. Also from my perspective difficulty levels aren't exactly meaning what people expect them to.
Normal difficulty - super hard for normal players.
Hard difficulty - super hard for someone who likes hard games.
Hardest - super hard for someone who likes hardcore ("I wanna be the ..." type of games).
Regardless of that, I hope that it was still fun to play! ^^
Thank you for the review! You start with 4 hearts. not because of a collision with a boss (you would never get gamaged by boss this way), but because of intentional design. By the lore, you fought monsters right before this battle and got damaged once (it's mentioned in a dialogue with a boss). So yeah it's not a bug

Yeah, it's supposed to be like that. You can choose to upgrade your weapon or not. The winning strategy actually relies on that. If you managed to get the gun that shreds enemies with ease (at least in the amounts that are there), you should avoid upgrading because each upgrade comes with a price ^^
I was thinking about making enemies harder over time, but I think this way it would be more in the theme
Let me know if you actually managed to complete this level. So far I'm aware of only about one person who was able to beat this.
Thank you so much for this tileset! I've been working with it and using it for so long but as a dev I wasn't able to use it the way I wanted to. But now I managed to do something I'm really proud of. I'm not a good artist so if there wasn't your works (as well as works of other people on this site) it would've been harder to make games for me. Thank you formaking this path easier!

Well, to be honest, as soon as I paid attention to the jam theme, the game was already 2/3 done. On the other hand, the theme in jam is purely inspirational and not required. Therefore, I decided not to forcibly cram the theme in, but to leave everything as it is. In the end, the main thing is to use limitation.
Thank you for your review! That card you accidently skipped described told about why you ssometimes unable to use your detectives. Briefly - there are 4 stats: Strength, Attention, Communication and Energy represented by numbers in this exact order. Energy is how many times you would be able to use this character in a shift. So yeah, it's not a bug, characters run out of energy that's why you wasn't able to use them. I would've liked to make it more clear but unfortunatly had no enough time to do so
I only think of this as a demo because of my perfectionist nature. I want for people to enjoy my works with as it's full potential. But if people are enjoy my works as they are right now that's amazing too! I just don't want for people to sacrifice their content because of my own incapabilities or time restrictions
