What are the formats of the models? Is OBJ included?

Oops! I missed a step in the instructions, my bad. When right-clicking the AssetForge.app, you should click "Get Info". The "Open using Rosetta" checkbox is in there. I updated the post.

Some good news - We've found a workaround for the time being. The problem seems to only affect Apple Silicon macs (mine being an M1) and appears to be related to a third-party Unity plugin that allows using native dialogs for Windows, Linux, and MacOS.

The workaround is to run the app in "Open using Rosetta" mode. To do this:

  1. Right click the AsssetForge.app package
  2. Click "Get Info"
  3. Click the checkbox "Open using Rosetta". It should be under the "General" tab.
  4. Open the app again

All the native "Saving" and "Open" should now work as expected.

Just downloaded 2.5.0 and the native OS save dialogs do not spawn when trying to save. This happens with Save, Save As, Export Sprite, and Export Model (edit, also when trying to open, too).

Things I tried:

  • Restarted computer
  • Updated MacOS to latest version (Sequoia 15.4.1)
  • Started app in command-line (several lines of "memorysetup-*" during startup, no error/warning messages when trying to save)
  • Reinstalled previous 2.4.1 Deluxe - this saves normally as before

I'm on an M1 chip

(I spoke too soon with https://itch.io/t/4831551/new-update-250-wow, sorry for the curse)

I just got the email about 2.5.0. Reading through it, actually really stoked about:

  • Added buttons for quickly exporting sprites/models
  • Added message after successfully exporting 3D model
  • Added (error) message when failed to load custom block or collection
  • Added hotkey for closing panels (ESC)
  • Extended maximum distance when zooming out
  • Extended maximum scale when exporting 3D models

These will help me directly! Thank you!

This asset pack is amazing! I've used this for several projects and it's all very cohesive and extremely usable. It's just fantastic. Thank you.

Thank You!

Thank you so much for this pack. I bought it as part of a bundle, mostly being interested in the other parts of the bundle, and about a year later it has come in handy! I especially love the separated layers so I can tailor the background to fit my battle arena's aspect ratio. Came to the comments here to thank you for that. :)

Bump on this. I would like to export objs as well. It looks like the scripting has `exportSprite` but no method for models.

I see this is almost 3 years old, but I've run into this issue several times. I find myself pressing ESC to get out of the export panel but nothing happens :D I've been using Asset Forge for about a year now and I still find myself doing this, haha.

This would be a nice simple addition.

I can say that I use it on an M1 and have had zero issues.

Hi there! I love Asset Forge, it's easily become one of my favorite tools.

Recently, I've been using it to draft levels at a macro level for a fast-paced shooter, and I want to be able to export obj files at large scales. However, the scale limit is set to 1000. Could this be increased to 10000 or more? Thanks.

There was an update posted awhile back with a few suggestions on how to scale up the interface: https://radmatt.itch.io/dialogue-designer/devlog/156541/4k-resolution-fix-interf...

Exciting. Like the art style a lot, looking forward to seeing where this goes.
