I really liked it! The graphics, music and gameplay are all really good. The gameplay loop is really good and I really enjoyed playing the game. Really high quality for a game jam game! One suggestion though: the dialogue was going a bit fast which made it hard for me to follow the story of the game because english is not my first language.
I reached the end of the demo, and I liked it! As others have already said: the camera could use some work so you can better see your surroundings. The pixel art is looking really good, but I would suggest trying to keep the pixel size consistent between everything. Right now it really feels like there are several different styles put together with the player being scaled up and enemies are being scaled down (maybe multiple different people contributed art for the game?). If multiple people are working on pixel art for one project I would suggest using one texture (for example the player) as reference and use that to decide how many pixels wide/high all the other textures should be. That way the whole art style of the game will feel more consistent.
Really fun and interesting game, I enjoyed playing it! I sometimes have a bit of trouble catching words because my cursor is already close to the edge of the screen. Maybe it would be a good idea to move the cursor to the middle of the screen or the players position before you start drawing the flower?
Fun game and great music, I enjoyed it a lot. The sprite for the ladybugs you need to rescue is awesome, I can imagine them franticly screaming for help with their arms waving in the air haha . A little bit of advice though: it would be good to add some visual feedback when you go through a checkpoint, so the player gets confirmation that the checkpoint is activated. Also exploring can be a little bit tedious with the camera being zoomed in too much. It was sometimes hard to figure out where to go next.
