Loved the improv. Very well done.

Wonderful game. Was pretty far but I felt immersed the whole time.

Glad you liked the idea. But yes, I definitely need to work on the controls and camera for next time.

Thanks. My friend and I went through so many ideas but most either sounded unfun or too easy. I think I picked a fun one but, as you correctly guessed, it was a bit too much to finish in 48 hrs. Still learned a lot though.

I'm glad you like my idea. Agreed the controls could have been done better. I was trying to fix an issue where the mouse wasn't working and I think it impacted my keybinding choices a little too much.

Thanks. I definitely need to add more control to the camera. I had fun coding in all the features, even if none of them got finished.

Thanks, I definitely went far too wide and didn't flesh out a lot. Will hope to get as much done next year but more focused.

Was looking for something like this, very good execution and matches the theme well. The only gripe I had was that the UI in the top left was a little big, and it was hard putting monsters there. Great work.

Fun concept, fits the theme well.

Very well designed game. The controls felt very smooth and intuitive, I hit what I intended to hit, and I think the game was a fair challenge. Music also matched the vibe, although even at full volume I had to turn my speakers up. I think some of the enemies were a little easier than others (ie the spread enemies) as long as you dashed into their fire at the right time, you could get all of their shots in one dash. Aside from that I felt the game was balanced, with level 10+ being a good challenge.

Thanks for taking the time to give this detailed criticism. The camera did not work nearly as well as I'd hoped, although I did intend for it to be down "on the field" to match the role reversal vibe rather than overhead, which probably would have been most comfortable. And yes the controls were made early in the build and I was focused on fixing other things. I should have just had all creeps follow you, or do a point and click system. Also most of the UI elements I put in either didn't show up for everyone or didn't work during testing so I scrapped them, so I understand that frustration.

As for the difficulty, I wish I had set aside some time for a tutorial, as that would have conveyed some of the intended strategies I had in mind, but I ran out of time.

This jam helped me understand quite a bit about game design. However, I definitely over-scoped. Will keep these lessons in mind for next year.

Very creative, I felt immersed in the game's universe.

Very fun concept, and it felt intuitive. Was hard getting 10, but felt like the snake scaled things fairly.

Fun game, my slow reflexes made it harder but balancing between the two is a good idea.

Fun game. Music set the vibe really well. Although the other fish kept beating me to the worms...

Fun concept, I loved the Skyrim references

Fun and unique concept. I think the guns should have been a little cheaper (I didn't get the first one til level 5 or so) and would have been nice to buy some upgraded barriers as well.

This fits very well with the theme. I love the art and how tired the referee looks after doing this for thousands of years... I don't have the best reactions though so I lost fairly quickly.

Very unique concept. I liked the chat on the side, and the rampage mode at the end was fun.

Yeah I messed up the aspect ratio on the UI pretty bad. Unless you were in full screen you could not see your score. I need to lookup how to do UIs that work on different sized screens.

Fun game, and was very balanced despite the limited time you had.

Thanks! I wanted to use the third person camera to convey the role reversal and have your general in the trenches, since the ones controlling the towers would have the bird's eye view. But after having so much trouble with the camera, I agree it would have been the better call to have the bird's eye view.

I wanted to use mouse camera as well but I had a hard time doing both controller/keyboard so I just went with controller. Numpad would have definitely been the best way for something like this had I gotten mouse camera to work.

I think after testing it Sunday morning I came up with the same conclusion (controlling them all was best), but I already had so much tied to to the class controls that it was too hard to change. I'll make it less complicated next year for sure.

Thanks, and yeah I still need to practice how to make a proper camera.

Fun concept, the rat blended in pretty well.

Fun concept, felt like Portal.

Was fun but I kept getting sticky key notifications. Would be better if shift was on another key. Reminds me of the SNES Zelda game dark world mechanic.

Fun game, would be nice if the ladders were more visible though.

As someone usually on the other end of this kind of thing, this was fun to play.

Fun concept. You'll want to play this in full screen.

Fun concept, good music. Reminds me how bad I am at bowling IRL.

Fun game, love the music. And yeah, lots of snake going OOB lol

Very fun concept, but it seems even when playing opponents of the same level my team gets rekt on the first volley. Maybe make the AI players start in a more random position so that the spread is a bit more even.

Had fun but lost one of my boxes in a wall lol. Fun concept, and the movement/camera felt good.

Had fun balancing everything while figuring out where I could/couldn't build a turret. Could have been better with a rotating camera.

Has a nice mario kart vibe to it.

Love all of the sprites

Very fun, played many rounds. Would be nice if there was a stat total for each merged ability, so I can see which combination would be the best value.
