Fun game, that also utilizes a clone mechanic in a creative way.

The only issue I had was that the scale was really small, so some things (especially the UI) were a bit difficult to see.

Other than that, great job!

Hey, thank you for your detailed feedback!

I recently watched some videos on level/puzzle design (e.g. GDC talks), and I think I have a better understanding on that now. We didn't have any experience on that when we made the game, so we basically just started building some levels right away without much planning. 😅

We will update the game some time after the jam is over, and rework the current levels to incorporate all of the feedback we got as much as possible, and likely even add new mechanics and levels after that.

I will definitely work on the UI as well, since it appears that many people didn't really understand what exactly it shows and how important it is (that's why we also added that to our itch-page's description for now).

Thanks again, the amount of high-quality feedback we already got is amazing, and I'm glad you liked some parts of our game! 😀

I don't think the name is bad (maybe a bit generic, bit that's not an issue), just maybe some sort of tutorial at the beginning could have been helpful.

Still a really fun game, and you should be proud of yourself for making it in such a short timeframe!

I was a bit confused first (thought I somehow needed to protect the earth instead of the ship), but after I understood that, it was really fun. Survived it at day 13. Also, I like the artstyle (especially with the "hand-drawn" text at the beginning)!

Thanks again for the feedback!
Glad you enjoyed it :)

Amazing art and a lovely little narrative. I really enjoyed playing through it!

Fun game! I also really like the music and the background art.

Another cool detail is that you could even move the legs and arms.

Thanks again for playing!

Fun mechanic, I like that the player can basically build its own platforms to jump around on!

Thanks! We had a lot of fun making it :)

Thanks for the detailed review!

I'll see what I can do about the jump without having to remake all the existing levels too much. Probably, it can be improved quite a bit by just playing around with different values like gravity and jump velocity.
Also, do you thing the "the longer you press the button, the higher you jump" mechanic would make sense here?

Loved the narrative and the little twist at the end!

The levels were pretty challenging and cleverly designed, too (especially the one before you place the flame into the statue).

Just a fun little gimmick that we implemented on the first day, before we even knew what exactly we wanted to make ;)

Thanks for the comment!

Hey, we had similar ideas about using past bodies of the slimes as gameplay elements ;)

Nice execution!

Thanks :)

I love the idea of using a computer as the UI.

Great animations! The controls took me some time to get used to, but they fit the situation of being in space pretty well. Also, the intro was lovely!

Thanks, yours looks good as well!

Well, you do see what the next shift is in the top left of the screen. But maybe we could change the text in the level where shifts are introduced for the first time to make it a bit more clear.

Interesting idea about the level always looking similar, but still a bit different.
It would just be nice, if A and D could also be used for movement, as I'm not that used to the arrow keys in games. Just a personal preference, though, but maybe you could have supported both.

Fun little game (and pretty unique from what I've seen)!

Thanks!

Thanks, we are glad you had fun with our little game! :)

Hey, do you mean something like a short popup that comes up when you select a level from the level selector before it begins?

We didn't really think that was necessary, since the current levels never have a pattern of more than three shifts at once (so the player can discover the pattern really quickly anyway), but we should definitely think about that in case we add more complex levels and shifts after the jam.

Thanks for your valuable feedback!

Hi, thanks for your feedback!

In each level, there is a fixed pattern of some of the following physics shifts:

  • upside down: gravity and player are vertically flipped
  • half gravity: player can jump twice as high and falls down twice as slow
  • upside down + half gravity: combination of the other two
  • normal: no changes in physics

You always see what the next shift will be, and incorporate that into you decision on then and where to place a clone.

Hope that helps 😀

Looks pretty good and is fun to play. I also love the little description about the enemies in the menu.

(1 edit)

Sorry, I think I still don't entirely get it 😅.

Do you mean that the player stays still for a second while jumping up into a corner like this while pressing A? I think that might be happening due to some physics setting in the Engine (maybe friction). I'll see if I can change that after the rating period, if that is what you meant.

Hey, thanks for your comment!

Do you mean that the player sometimes gets stuck in the ground when a clone falls on its head?

Well, you definitely succeeded on that!

I never thought that looping around sheep could be that satisfying. Well done!

Thanks for the feedback!

Amazing that a game with that kind of art and animations can be made in just 4 days!
The short story was also fun to read.

Looks great, but like Galuma, I couldn't add any weapons to the locomotive. Only adding wagons in the back seems to work...

Thanks :-)

Great idea. The levels become really tough quickly, but that's part of the fun!

Thank you!

Nice and unique idea!

Sadly, the undo button doesn't work for me, which makes it pretty hard to play (always had to reload the page when I got it wrong). Did I miss something or is that a bug?

Fits the theme really well.
Also, the UI and overall design is beautiful!

Thanks for the nice words!

Glad you liked our little game :)

Fun little game!

The part about drawing a road for the car to ride on reminds me of a mobile game that I played a lot when I was a child :)
