THIS IS REALLY LOVELY. The doll I got feels super fitting for my tastes since I love eerie/uncanny girls (I wish I had taken a screenshot before the clothing part because I really liked the glass heart window design. I'll replay so I can do that because I definitely want to draw her!)
First of all I really love the style of the interface, it reminds me of the Nintendo DS which feels really nostalgic! (I assume it's supposed to be a kit box which are clampshell-designed, but the DS was what popped in my head first haha)
The writing was really well done. I love how the narrative slowly shows the viewer that the MC has let their time (and their life?) be consumed by building this doll, especially the lines about other people having to check up on them. The ending where the doll has allowed them to be anchored to their new home was really sweet (Coquina means shellfish so I think the MC moved to a seaside city).
I adored the environments changing after we choose the parts. The leaves of the tree representing the head/mind, the rivers representing the body, the fish area being the eyes, and the strands of hair were all beautifully drawn.
This was such a charming concept to do for a dollmaker! I really enjoyed playing this. You guys did amazing!
Hi thank you so so much for the review😭💞💞I really like your works so this means a lot to me that you enjoyed my VN.
I tried to flesh out Kumanika City in a way that felt closed off but not as if Sonya and Sofiya are the only two in the world. I really wanted to strike that melancholic chord with the story's tone and I'm really happy it showed through!
I love androids and I also love the motif of creating another being 'Victor Frankenstein-style' and the consequences of that (especially if that being is used as a replacement for someone else), so this Game Jam was a really great opportunity for me to explore both of those concepts together.
My biggest hurdle was being scared that readers "wouldn't get it" since this was my first published visual novel, but seeing the nice comments from you and everyone else who has played so far has really encouraged me that my fears were unfounded.
Thank you for the compliment, and thank you and Malaika a million times for hosting this jam!⭐
Hi!! Thank you so so much for the compliment and review! I really enjoyed your Rorojam entry so hearing such praise makes me really happy.
I’m glad that I could convey Sonya’s and Sofiya’s emotions in a way that emotionally impacted you, and I’m really glad the somber atmosphere i was trying to create came through as well!
Thank you so much for reading it!
This game is gorgeous and the prose is absolutely incredible. Solaris' dynamic with Nina and Mr. Neighbor was really fun to read and I enjoyed as the story slowly unravels her history with them and her Mother.
There are so many lines that resonated with me, but the one where Mr. Neighbor says that Solaris is just a girl and that he sees and recognizes who she is regardless of her being human or not was beautifully written. Overall this was a really poignant story and I loved every second of it.
Thank you to the team for making this!
HI thank you so so much for the review! <3<3<3
This is my first visual novel so this really means a lot.
One of my main worries was that I would come across as not trusting the reader to be able to infer things on their own. I'm so happy I was able to convey the oppressive atmosphere and Sonya/Sofiya/Sonia's dynamic well enough to you.
Again, thank you so much for the compliment!!!
Trying to encapsulate how much I loved reading this.
This was beautiful throughout every moment, both the tender moments and the violent ones. I loved the themes that circulated throughout the story about religion and humanity and love. Being a vessel for a higher being is one of my favorite fictional concepts and Lave conveys that tragically but also beautifully as well. I adore him and Mona both and I love their dynamic.
This was genuinely one of the most gorgeous visual novels I've read. Thank you both to Vesta and Oscar for creating this!
This was such a beautiful game. I loved all three stories but "To Invent Longing" was absolutely beautiful to read. Both of them learning to define their feelings and love for each other was very sweet. The final conversation between them made me tear up a little to be honest😭.
This game was absolutely incredible, thank you to the entire team for making this!
This was an absolutely adorable game. I loved the undertones of Polyco's desperation for love and Kleisinsky's indifference to her feelings. The growing unsettling feeling that felt like prickles and horror was also really well written.
The visual aesthetics reminded me of old series like Chobits (which I have been recently rewatching actually) and DigiCharat. It's a 2000s atmosphere through and through but also implements current affairs like the rise of AI and how its currently affect the average human.
I absolutely loved this, thank you for making it!
This was such a beautiful game. I loved slowly uncovering the layers behind Pola's and Tetra's "past lives" if that makes sense, and seeing how they're both trying to move on and heal in different ways. I love that they're both open about their desires and fantasies. The scene at the end with the jewelry box was really poignant.
I loved this reading this, thank you!
I always enjoy reading your works and this is no exception. I loved how the visual effects enhanced the story and of course I loved the characters as well.
Nikko is so adorable and I felt for her as she tried to earn Lev's affection through violence and how that kind of backfires on her.
This was amazing to read, thank you both for creating this!
I just finished but this was really special to read. Everything about the use of embroidery and texture to the characters and the writing was absolutely beautiful. I love stories about seaside places, and while I never lived near one I understand the struggle of having to uproot your home and everything you knew and were used to, having moved several times myself for reasons out of my control. I loved seeing Alba and Erica and Nicole's thoughts and struggles as the story went on, and ended up adoring all three of them. Thank you so much for making this and I really wish you luck with the VN Jam's results!
Everything from the writing prose to the visuals to the music is so gorgeous. I've been an avid kpop fan for a long time, so I could empthasize with Amarys and Seolyeong's feelings about what being an idol means to them and the immense internal and external pressure that they face. I think the motif of the ribbons was a really fun touch as it represents the entanglement that the two have with each other. I have a bunch of other jumbled thoughts, but in short this was such a beautiful game, I really enjoyed it!
I adored reading this so much. I was genuinely captivated from start to finish by the stylistic design, the characters, and their struggles as well. I really like the entire cast, and I could empathize with all of them, despite their actions or thoughts sometimes seeming unreasonable or downright hard to justify. Being human is "messy"/complicated and relationships are even more so, and all of them reflect this aspect really well, including Emma, despite the fact that she isn't human. How can a robot take care of someone who thinks the very act of Existing is hard? I think your story asks and answers that question in a very compelling way, and I love it for that. Reading this has reminded me to embrace having "messy" characters and dynamics and not feel like I have to censure myself for the sake of conforming to "normalcy". Thank you for creating this, and good luck to you with the Game Jam!❤️❤️❤️
I just finished at 3AM but this was really good! I genuinely loved it and couldn’t put it down. I’ve liked your visual novels since Asphyxia which I had read when I was younger & going through StuffTM. I think you’re very skilled at telling poignant stories and Glass Heart is definitely one of them. I also freaking love Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” and easily consider it one of my favorite classic novels, and I could definitely feel the inspiration for this story. This was really really fun to read. I wish you luck on the Game Jam!<33
I just finished reading and I really loved this! It says a lot about me, but a lot of Eleanor's thoughts resonated with mine, particularly the feeling of not being a misanthrope but just finding People tiring.
That aside, I personally think the two of them are very cutely messed up together. I love the concept of violence and intimacy being mixed together, and the sex scene really scratches that itch for me. I think Milk Puzzle is a very strong contender. Good luck to you with the Game Jam!<3333
Leaving this here too
This game has been one of the most poignant VNs and mecha stories that i have played so far. I genuinely adore the cast, their designs are adorable and their personalities are intriguing to watch, and watching their struggles, especially Xio and Bell's, really resonated with me personally. The OST is also genuinely so cute and charming that I keep going back just to listen to it.
Coquette Dragoon is a beautiful game and I would recommend everyone I can to read it.
I'm so impressed I really don't know what to say....this was one of the most beautifully designed indie games I've seen, no joke. And it's only a demo too!qwq. The background was absolutely gorgeous and fit so well with the theme of the game. When i saw the moving water I was so awed I actually had to stop and stare for a few minutes. The writing was amazing as well, I instantly fell in love with Aster in minutes, and I loved the little diary entries too. I also loved the mechanics, but I had a little difficulty with clicking items and puzzles and stuff. The main difficulty was the chase scenes, which felt a little hard due to how the "monster" moved, but other than that it was nothing too bad. Other than that I loved this game, and I really would pay money for a full version if you guys ever felt like making one. It's so so worth it. I don't mean to sound biased but I really hope you win, you guys deserve it so much! Wishing all the best~~
