That's bang on, good observation. We tried to add longer windups to the boss' attack animations, but a few slipped through the cracks and feel a bit unfair.

As for the AOE: I recommend jumping.

Thanks a ton!

Yo it is so awesome that you went to the effort to record your playthrough! It was really cool to watch how you tackled the game. Thanks a ton!

We will add controller deadzones and UI interaction to the non-jam version.

I'll be sure to add control remapping in my next game or a later version!

Hey! Congrats on the first jam! Really solid aesthetics, wish you had some keyboard controls, cuz the mouse dragging is a bit awkward.

Hey! Really good work, this game is short and sweet. The zig zag puzzle was quite stellar.

Congrats on the first jam! Two fully functional games, good stuff! There's a weird bug in Pong where it seems like the ball bounces off the wall behind the paddle sometimes.

Hey! Could you put a PC build of the game out? The browser version is lagging terribly.

Good Work! Solid game with a good amount of polish. Most of the modes were a bit too easy, but the vibes were chill and on point, so it was quite enjoyable. Endless was the most fun to be sure.

Ok it's insane that you have  DOS PC and made a DOS game that runs on modern windows. That has got to be insane to make anything with those limitations. But also probably pretty fun. I turned my mouse sensitivity waaaay down and it was much more manageable.

Yo that's awesome! Thank you for playing! I don't think I could beat it that fast. Maybe with the Jump skips...

Jams are most fun when there's a bit of chaos. No regrets.

Thanks for the review! And you're right, multiplayer would be crazy, I hadn't thought of that.

Ooh also there's a Dishwasher at one end of the conveyor. You can drop plates there.

This is good stuff. It's so perfect I kinda don't have anything to say.

Wow, this game has vibes. I love the aesthetic and artstyle, and the music was amazing. I think my UI might be broken, because the boost bar is going out of its casing. The initial pistol is a bit too underpowered when facing enemies this tanky. It's hard to get a build off the ground. The mechanic for picking up oil is good, but when there's a swarm of enemies, it's hard to get in there, which contributes to the previous problem. This game probably gets a lot easier after the massive initial difficulty spike. And probably a lot more fun. But there's no point if I can't get there.

Good Work! High Contrast lighting and banger menu design. Great tutorial as well. The contextual dash is good stuff, but the game may have been served better without the shooting mechanic. It doesn't really fit well in a fast paced game, since it requires you to stop and think, breaking the flow. Overloading dash, jump and ground pound on one button is a cool idea, but there are times when it feels a bit unintuitive. You could add a slight slowdown at the peak of the jump to give time to dash, or make it a different button.

Great working with y'all! This is definitely the most polished game I've worked on so far!

Pretty Art, I was quite excited. Unfortunately the gameplay is boring and filled with bugs

(1 edit)

Tbh I couldn't really figure out what I was supposed to do. The buttons didn't work half the time either. I think some work on UX would be good, to make sure it's clear what is going on.

Solid art, but not very readable. It's hard to understand what is going on. The game also isn't random, and it's a bit unfair, as you need to know where enemies will drop in the future. As a concept, its not bad.

Solid writing and atmosphere, keep it up! I'd like to see something longer.

Hey! I'd be up to join as a programmer. Do LMK Discord: lord_of_ennui

Not sure how to reach out without a shared server on discord, but I'd be up to join.

I have a decent amount of time over the next two weeks, so if you think you can make use of a Unity dev with solid skills, LMK.

I've done a couple jams in the past, and have otherwise written a Raytracer, Noise Generator, Mesh generator, etc in Unity just for fun. I write C# and hlsl.

Hey! Would love to join a dedicated team. I have a decent amount of time over the next two weeks, so if you think you can make use of a Unity dev with solid skills, LMK.

I fall in the novice category, just about barely.
