Hi! I am interested in teaming up :D

I can help in programming, art or music (whatever is necessary). This will be my second game jam.

discord: sim8905

Yeah I didn't have time to do much, most of my time was learning godot and understanding things as I was going along. I see your game has a web build, I'll check it out.

Thank you for your kind words : )

I am thinking of a lot more ideas for how to expand / add to the game (somehow all of these had to come right after the jam ended LOL). Some I have in mind are to make it so that peasants have limited uses (once dead) and another is that each level has a time limit sorta. Still thinking though.

Thank you for playing! Completely understand, I wanted at least something out for the game jam rather than nothing so it is short as a result.

THE ART AND MUSIC ARE SO COOL. So much polish, it is inspiring. Great polish, great twist on a classic game.

I love this. Everything felt intuitive and I really really love the kirby-like mechanic of consuming the powers of an enemy / entity. It always makes me wonder what else might be possible. Short and sweet. One suggestion would be checkpoints after every major chunk of the level. I hope you develop it further and add more critters !!

will do!

I was following some of the development on discord. I love this game's aesthetic. Feels so cute and cozy. I am surprised it is not more popular on this jam :( I hope more people find and rate this one.

Thank you! The realization that you can move bodies was intended to be at level 3 (the reason why you have only 2 peasants).

My plans post-jam are to fix the bugs, improve the game feel, re-work the levels and (potentially - if there is interest) add new hazards and peasants.

A lot of this was made in a big rush (levels were designed last minute) and I was learning Godot as I was making this game, which resulted in some questionable design choices... but I will try my best!

Thank you for playing Quinn!! Once again, great music by you in your game : ) I loved it

Ooh I saw your game earlier and wanted to play it, it looks fun. Sadly my machine is linux so I do not think I can play it, but I will try to get a friends laptop and try your game (and some others) out.

That is a good hazard idea! I am considering adding a dragon that shoots a line of fire breath (acting as a laser) once I clean up the current version of the game.

I love that idea of peasants getting scattered. If I can manage to program that I will add that to the game. Thanks for playing :D

Definitely plan on expanding it a bit if there is enough interest, thank you for playing!!

I love this game a lot. Time: 8:00.33

I spent a while just avoiding everything that could hurt me LOL, then realized I was supposed to die. I think 4 of those minutes were me avoiding things and going to the next room. I love this aesthetic of game where it is sort of 2.5D. Thank you for making this!

Oh My God the audio design is immaculate. Amazing work with that.

Thank you! Love your game btw

The "enter the name" prompt disappearing right as I started typing was hilarious, and then being called Sean was funny too (I see what you did there). I also love the blackjack game. The voice acting is very professional and the way the game is structured is amazing. Honestly inspiring xD

Love the castlevania-esque music. In terms of audio, my only nitpick would be the coin sound effect. I feel it is a little out of place (but this is a nitpick). Overall great music, nice simple combat and I am quite impressed by the metroidvania level design you managed to make. I hope you develop it further!!

Clever concept, simple and nice implementation, and I found the music really dope too. Overall an enjoyable experience!

This was a really cool concept and I loved every level. It was the perfect amount of levels for a game jam. I also recognize the music from the brackeys godot tutorial haha, but all in all great work and I think you should keep working on this game! The idea has lots of potential.

Thank you :D I hope to improve as I work on more projects. Thank you for pointing out the one peasant glitch. I have it fixed in my local project and am waiting for the judging period to be over before I upload the patched version (where I fix another major bug). Thank you so much for playing!

Thank you for the feedback. I never considered the timing aspect, that would be so cool. I am considering adding different peasants and hazards for a more complete package. I think I need to wait until after the judging period is over to do these.

Oooh, I just stalked your profile after you mentioned that and I found some of your work. Will be listening to these xD

Honestly amazing work. I am a huge fan of that sort of music and I especially loved the saxophone bits in this track (I hope I am recognizing my instruments correctly).

This game is amazing. I see how death is an opportunity here (to an extent), but regardless I had lots of fun playing it. Consider working on it for a full release !!! I love the jazzy track and the general aesthetic a lot. The view catalog menu is super clean too, great work.

The artstyle really caught my attention. I liked the gameplay but the overall aesthetic blew me away. Great work!

I liked this game. Felt really nice to play and the levels were well thought out. Lots of neat little touches too, great work : )

I like how death is a literal entity to interact with. Good game! I wish it had some sound effects because I feel like that plays a big part of the juicy nice-feeling feeling that vampire survivor type games have, but great effort : )

LMAO ": )"

This game is peak. Although I do not see the relevance with the theme, of how death can be an opportunity, I loved the art direction, the music and the levels. Sometimes when there are lots of deaths, and I am moving the stage around, it feels like a frying pan LOL. Amazing game. If this was a steam game, I'd probably buy it.

Appreciate the feedback!! I plan on adding these (and more) post-jam. Oh and the door is bugged, but since you got that far you're a winner :D

I really love the concept. Some things felt a little confusing to me personally, such as where I was supposed to go (but it can be argued that the player should experiment with their surroundings and find their path). I also think that the jumping up between the two logs felt a little bit awkward. I wasn't really sure if I was supposed to go up there initially, but then managed to and realized that was the intended path. For when you fall down and land on the "spikes", I might recommend making them more visually recognizable, and also signal to the player that this was a death by making the death immediate (or an animation) with a sound effect maybe. All in all, I think what you did was good and you should keep working on the game and polish it even further! I love the voiced intro and the art direction as a whole.

Very polished and I really like the art style. I initially got stumped when I died so fast, but then realized that was the whole point :P. Great work for this 4 day game jam.

That is the plan post-jam! I want to polish and add some things to make it feel more complete, and more like a game. So far I have been thinking of more types of peasants and hazards.

This was a blast to play. Although I struggle with puzzle games, I love appreciating the thoughts behind each level.  The levels in this are really well thought out, great puzzles. I loved the ending xD

Appreciate it! I used Krita. It is free and open source.

That means a lot. Thank you : )
