Small clarification, Would not call it bad AI, just that it is hard to get more than 4 ducks to follow since they follow further away. I do think it is very thoughtfully made, when the duck start follow and stops follow they make a quack sound to indicate that the state has changed. Very good attention to detail.
first of want to say I've played 15 games today and saw DaySideUp commenting on half of them, thanks for leaving good constructive feedbacks for the jam 🙌
the art is well painted and the music slaps. very interesting puzzle/mechanics. The platformer character controller behaves a little weird on slanted slopes. and sometime a bit hard to tell what part of the level has collision which doesn't. But overall very solid entry.
light and shadow... clair obscur??? is this a scheme to make Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 win ANOTHER award? 🤔
The music and sound effects makes this game so funny i love it. Also maybe some simple in game instructions on control would help, even if it is just text. took me a minute of trail and error
Also from one unity dev to another don't include the `Give Me Five_BurstDebugInformation_DoNotShip` folder in your build.
like the art style and sound, tho it is quite hard to understand how to play at the current state. with unclear instructions. Otherwise, I think the technical side is quite complex and want to give credits for that.
Since the submission is locked, I would suggest updating the itch page description to include the objective in bullet point form so at least people can reference there if stuck. I know you have it written already, but it was a bit hard to find the info I need through the paragraphs with a lot of proper nouns.
Easily the most beautiful game in this jam (maybe in all the jams I've ever done). The tech art is super impressive technically and very expressive emotionally. Adding the beautiful score on top it was such an beautiful experience. Even the level design is very well thought out constantly guiding player where to explore with different objects like lights and trails.
That said, a minor complaint is that the technical side is getting in the gameplay enjoyment a little bit. The light reveal mechanics is fairly weak and gets a bit repetitive on the second and third level. As well as the AI on 3rd level would sometime just stop following. As a programmer I appreciate the technical side of things but as a player a bit annoyed. Still, love the experience and can't wait for the full game you guys are working on!
Nice, loved the puzzles! It is rare to see puzzles that is designed simple and well tutorialized for a game jam game! Main complain would be that it is quite easy to get stuck on room geometry, like the wall and the door way for later levels. especially the last two levels the player can get stuck behind walls and I can't quite tell what is going on.
Edit, also love the shader on the force fields! subtle but love the distortion it adds
Fun crafting game! loved the simple gameplay and love the interesting controls for choosing ingredients. Graphics are quite nice and the audio is relaxing.
The UX is quite good with inputs and misinputs having a informative pop up to tell me what it did or what went wrong. One minor suggestion is for the Recipe list to be easier to interact with especially when the recipes goes up too much. Also might be better to put row 2 ingredient shortcuts to A S D W.
Also got a minute stuck with no orders around the end of level 5, but other than that was pretty well balanced. (surprisingly quite relaxing).
Overall very cool entry, I was catching myself trying to optimize ingredient shortcut after a few minutes. So yeah very engaging gameplay.
Amazing illustration and UI design! Loved the simple game mechanics that builds up as the game progresses, love the variety of gameplay stemmed from a simple mechanics! That said the overall gameplay loop feels a bit oppressive, it feels like I become poorer and poorer as the game progresses and i am cookie-less at the end. I feel like it would be nicer if i can build up an cookie empire through trade and or other encounters to face harder challenges. Nonetheless, I do feel some rush near the end when I was running out of resources and it did feel good when I finished a stage with just enough cookies.
Sick game! So good to have a game with controller support! Very polished art and music and the game feels amazing!
Really impressed with how many unique item and weapons were in the game. The enemy too are all very thoughtful made and each brings a unique challenge!
I think if the game could be more fast paced and more action focused. Currently it feel very methodical and rewards me when I'm cautious and play it slow. But I want to jump in the action! Maybe that's just my personal taste in game, either way would love to see what you awesome devs make in the future! 🙌🙌
I see it is a big team but I'm soooo impressed with what you guys pulled off in the 7 day jam! The gameplay loop is simple to understand but has so much depth with all the different decks you guys made. With more polish and some instructions to explain some mechanics, this game can go places! Would love to see more!
