Yes, compare the classic bfnsp with beta 1 with all the teasers, content and the floor builder (which in alpha 5 was just changing textures and that's it) the game changed a lot, so yes, the game was remade many times, alpha 6 demo (it didn't look anything like alpha 5) final alpha 6 (it didn't look like the demo either but it did a little bit) beta 1 (I couldn't tell you but remembering the 3D doors, lightning and noise system and the massive floor builder the changes are extratospheric.
It is just a baldi re-skin, i think it don't have lore, and also yes, baldi looks very off, if you purchare an apple in math store and try to gave it to baldi it just disappear and nothing happen, cause of the lack of sprites and alpha 6 development, maybe.
