My friends at Itch.io, I am pleased to announce that my new beat 'em up action-RPG has just been released. I'm very happy with how this one turned out. If you want to know what this game is about, just watch the short trailer below!

Your name is Blake Griffin, and you've just been transferred to the worst school in the district. In this place, no one goes to class, no one cares about grades and, most of all, no one cares about anything except your ability to throw down. If you want to survive in this school, you need to know how to stay in your lane.

But that wouldn't be very fun... would it?

Take on the various cliques, bosses and challenges and solve the mysteries that lie beneath this lost school.

At this time, I would like to give thanks to the people who made this possible, including my wife and my son!

I hope those who play it will enjoy it! If you don't, let me know what you don't like and I'll work hard to change your mind. :)

And of course, what would a release announcement be without a link to the store page? You'll find the full game along with a free demo.

Good luck and have fun!

Tomorrow afternoon, I'm planning to unlock the full game, along with a demo. The demo will really be more of a teaser for the full game, just a little dirty trick to entice the lovely audience to the full game. ;)

For anyone interested, keep an eye on the game page tomorrow. https://jcgames.itch.io/bedrock-high

or you can check the steam page and wishlist it. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2307760/Bedrock_High/

Started out using Klik n Play way back in 1999. Spent a lot of time on MFGG, Kirby's Rainbow Resort and other fangame websites back in the late '90s and early '00s. Sometime in the mid 2000s, I started making Sven Co-op and Garry's Mod maps that me and my friends would play. In the 2010s I picked up game development again, but by that time, new gamedev software had come out so I had to catch up on the new tech. And now, here I am.

Before the internet I used to draw designs for games I wanted to make in my notebooks. I only have a few images left of those.

Thanks, friend! Gave you a follow. :)

Hey, this looks really cool! I played the heck out of Quake and Duke back in the day. Any timeline for the full release?

So... I realized I haven't really updated this thread.. haha.

I think the game is pretty much feature complete at this point, and I believe I've ironed out all the bugs.

I have a release date set for March 10th. I'll include a demo, and a paid option for the full game.

For content, I guess I can post some new animated GIFs from the itch.io page!

And of coure, the final trailer!

So, I tend to be pretty nose down when developing, so I'm pretty bad about posting updates, but I have a couple things I can share.

Skill tree added. You can now choose which skills you earn when leveling up.

A little clip from the BAD ending. I won't spoil too much, but the final battle is with your own sense of greed, lol!

Hello, everyone at itch.io!

I've been working on this one for the past year now and I'd say it's nearing completion. I've had the idea for it for a long time, but now I'm finally about to bring it to life.

The idea is you've been sent away to the worst school in the district and now must fight your way up the totem pole. You will have to hold your own and battle with the different cliques that control the school!

If you want more info, you can check out the official page here:

Here's a trailer I put together to give you an idea of the gameplay:

And if you don't feel like clicking that link, here's some screenshots:

I'm hoping to have it done in the next few months. I'll try to post updates here in the meantime!

A while ago, I made a launcher app with some fancy features as a hobby project for myself. I added to it since then and decided to release the source code. Detailed description on the game page.

https://jcgames.itch.io/igs

Here are some of the features I was able to add:

  • Game Scanner that will scan your designated games directory and add them to the list without having to fiddle with config screens.
  • Custom Thumbnails that can be added for each game.
  • Fullscreenizer which can stretch windowed games to borderless fullscreen, even if they don't natively support it.
  • Joystick to Keyboard support using AntiMicro v2.23. Each game can have a unique custom profile that gets loaded on game start.

I think I'm done fooling with it for now, so if anyone wants to add to it or build their own version, go right ahead!

The source code can be found here:

Thanks, bud. Well, "lo-fi" is typically used for music, but I didn't know how else to describe the graphical style here. Minimalist? Anyway, thanks for the comment. :)

I'd like to do a Mac version. Thing is, I don't know much about Macs and don't own one either, haha. There's a configuration guide for Monogame on releasing for Mac, but I'll sort of be working blind. I'll just have to trust that it works.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm using C# with Monogame for the engine. I meant to put that in the description when writing the page, oops! I'll get that in there. :)

Hello everyone at Itch.io!

I've just released a demo of my newest game, The Bits That Saved the Galaxy! This is a sequel of sorts to one of my earlier games, The Bits That Saved the Universe. I'm really proud of this one and would highly appreciate any feedback you guys can give.

The Bits That Saved the Galaxy is a lo-fi co-op platformer shoot 'em up that can be played by up to four people. If you've ever played an old-school action-packed platform shooter like Contra, Gunstar Heroes, etc. then this will be right up your alley. All the information about the game is available on the Itch.io page, linked just below!

As I said, any feedback at all would be appreciated, even if you don't like it. :)

Thanks for the compliments, man!

Not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean make the desktop visible in the background? I'm planning to release an updated version in the future that will allow custom backgrounds among other things.
