I don't know about anyone else, but on MacOS, I had to turn off iCloud Private Relay; if you're not using a Mac, check if you have any proxies, relays, VPNs or similar, and see if briefly disabling those helps. (If that works, the next step would be to create an exception specifically for the blocked Itch hosts.)

Same issue here, latest macOS stable build. I look forward to seeing how it works following the redraws.

Just to  confirm, I was in the same situation and saw the same problem (macOS, downloaded from the website); installing via the itch.io desktop app fixed it. My guess is that it expects the library folder within the archive to be in a specific location.
