Hello YAoGuang, thanks for leaving a comment! I completely agree with your idea, which is why I've just updated the asset pack. There are now dedicated monster frames included to help them stand out from the rest of the cards. The update is available to download now. Hope this helps with your project!

You're very welcome, Mondune! I'm so glad I could help. Take your time trying it out, and I'll be looking forward to hearing how it works for you. Happy developing!

Hi Mondune! First of all, thank you so much for pointing this out.

You are correct that it was an intentional design. When I first created this asset, the animation was designed to naturally exceed the top edge of the screen.

As you might already know, if you set the UI anchor to the top, it will render exactly as intended without looking awkwardly cropped. However, I figured it might be a hassle to set this up manually in Unreal every time, so I went ahead and created and uploaded a dedicated Unreal Engine version that works perfectly right out of the box, just like in Unity.

Existing users of the Animated Pixel Magic Book, and especially those who purchased the bundle resources, can now download this Unreal version of the Magic Book. This version is set up using frame-by-frame animation Blueprint logic instead of a flipbook.

I wanted to help you out as quickly as possible based on your feedback, so I hurried to put this setup together. I'm leaving a test video here for your reference

Also, your feedback makes a lot of sense! For my future pixel book UIs, I will definitely consider designing them so they stay perfectly within the screen from the start.

Your feedback is highly informative, and I will definitely use it as a reference for my future projects.

You can find detailed development notes in the devlog below:

Hi there, thank you for purchasing the mega pack bundle!

Regarding the issue with frames 11 through 15 getting cut off, I suspect this is due to a DPI difference between the game engines. The kit was originally created based on Unity's standard of 72dpi. Because Unreal Engine uses 96dpi, the animation frames might be rendering larger than intended, causing the image area to go out of bounds and appear cut off at the top. Also, for your reference when setting up the flipbook, the animation is designed to run at 60fps (UMG FrameInterval: 0.0167).

I am going to look into this right now to verify if this is the exact cause. I will check the files and get back to you with a fix or an update as soon as possible.

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to your project, and I really appreciate you letting me know about it!

    Hello everyone!

I've been totally hooked on playing various deck-builders and card games lately. While enjoying them, I got the sudden urge to try making my own card UI in pixel art. What started as a fun side project has now grown into a complete, ready-to-use asset pack, and I'm super excited to share it with you all today!

Introducing the Modular Pixel Art Card UI Kit. I designed this keeping in mind what fellow indie developers would actually need to build a flexible and professional-looking card system.

    ✨ What's inside the kit?

    • 100% Handcrafted Pixel Art: Designed at a 960x540 (16:9) base resolution, perfect for scaling up to 1080p.
    • Highly Modular (46 PNGs): Everything is sliced! Mix and match frames, backgrounds, and ribbons to build your own deck.
    • 5 Themed Colors: Includes complete sets for Basic (Neutral), Red (Fire), Blue (Water), Green (Earth), and Purple (Dark).
    • Essential RPG Elements: Comes with Attack/Defense symbols, Tier badges (Common, Epic, Legendary), and a Selection Active Outline effect.
    • Master PSDs Available: For those who want full control over colors and layouts, the Pro tier includes fully layered Master PSDs with the Front and Back templates cleanly separated.

Whether you're making a roguelike deck-builder, a TCG, or just need some card elements for your RPG, I hope this kit serves as a solid foundation for your project.

I’d love to hear your thoughts or see what you create with it! Feedback is always welcome. Happy game dev! 🎮

Here is a quick look at what is new in v1.2:

    1. 5 Essential System Screens Added We expanded beyond the basic lobby and build flows. Now you get fully assembled, full-screen UIs for:
    • Mail (Inbox and rewards)

    Cheers!

    Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on several pixel art UI kits for a while now, and I noticed many developers were picking them up separately to build their RPGs. To make things a lot easier (and cheaper) for the community, I finally put them all together into one 4-in-1 Mega Bundle.

I decided to keep this bundle focused on Raw PNG files only. Whether you are using Godot, GameMaker, Unreal, or a custom engine, you can just drag and drop these 3,000+ assets straight in without any engine-specific headache.

    What’s inside:

    • Animated Magic Book: 30-frame open/page-flip animations + 153 icons.
    • Adventure Journal UI: 183+ components for quest logs and creature systems.
    • In-game HUD: Dynamic status bars (9 colors) and essential exploration icons.
    • Massive Skill Kit: 2,168+ skill icons and full UI flow for 4 RPG classes.

To celebrate the launch, I’m running a 33% OFF sale ($24.99) for the next two weeks (until April 14).

If you're looking for a cohesive pixel art style for your next project, feel free to check it out! I’d love to hear what you think.

Check out the Bundle here: https://indigolay.itch.io/pixel-rpg-ui-mega-pack-4-in-1

    Hey everyone,

I just released a UI kit I've been working on for a while. It covers the core screen flow of a mobile casual strategy game — the kind where you build stuff, upgrade, and manage resources.

    What's in it:

    • 9 production-ready screens (Splash, Lobby, Build, Build Confirm, Upgrade Popup, Speed Up, Info, Upgrade Result, Common Popup)
    • Code-based animation system with 30+ easing curves — no Animator needed
    • 5 color themes (Purple, Brown, Gray, LightGray, MintBlue) as swappable prefab variants
    • ScriptableObject building system — add new buildings without touching code
    • Particle effects with object pooling
    • Clean folder structure, commented scripts

    Why I made it:

I got tired of rebuilding the same UI screens every time I started a new strategy game. Build menus, upgrade popups, resource bars — it's always the same flow but you end up making it from scratch. So I built a kit I'd actually want to reuse, and figured other people might find it useful too.

The whole animation system runs on pure C# easing functions instead of Animator. Popups transition in four directions with configurable curves, buttons have press animations, resource icons fly to the HUD with physics-based arcs. You tweak everything in the inspector. No Animator controllers to manage.

    Two tiers:

    • Resources Only ($9.99) — all sprites, icons, UI elements, and a curated font. Engine-agnostic, works with Godot, Unreal, Cocos, anything.
    • Resources + Unity Package ($19.99) — full package with C# scripts, prefabs, ScriptableObjects, demo scene, animation system, and color theme variants. Import and go.

Requirements for the Unity package: Unity 2021.3 LTS+, TextMesh Pro, URP. No extra plugins.

I'm planning to add more screens (shop, inventory), more themes, and possibly expansion packs depending on feedback. If you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

    Thanks for checking it out.

Your comment made my day! ☀️ Wishing you the best with your work! 🍀

    Hi everyone,

Pixel art style is always so charming, isn't it? Following up on my previous HUD, Equipment Icons, and Component UI Kit sets, I’m excited to share that I've just released a brand new Skill UI Kit!

We all know building an RPG is tough, especially when you have to design hundreds of matching skill icons for different classes, create disabled states for cooldowns, and build a cohesive UI to tie it all together. I made this pack specifically to save fellow indie devs weeks of that tedious work.

Here is a quick overview of what's inside:

    • 2,168+ Total Assets: 271 unique skill designs covering 4 core classes (Warrior, Mage, Archer, Priest).
    • Production-Ready Variations: Every icon comes in 4 sizes (up to 204px) and 2 states (Active & Disabled).
    • Complete Book-Style UI: A full medieval grimoire interface setup, perfect for skill trees and spell books.
    • Engine Friendly: Available as a raw PNG pack for Godot/GameMaker/Unreal, OR a Complete Unity Package with ready-to-use Prefabs, Particle FX, and animations.

I tried to make it as plug-and-play as possible. If you combine it with my previous UI kits, you can easily set up a highly cohesive, professional look for your entire game.

Check it out here, and let me know what you think: https://indigolay.itch.io/pixel-skill-icons-book-ui-kit

Feedback and suggestions for future updates are always welcome. Happy developing! 🚀

Thanks so much! Enjoy the plugin! 🔥

Having trouble making palettes in Aseprite? Want pretty colors without the hassle?

Manually adjusting colors for pixel art shading can be tedious. I created a small script that automatically generates consistent Shade, Light, Hue, and Saturation variations based on your base colors. And yes, it is completely free to use.

    Features & How to Use

    • Preview Window: Displays variations as circular canvas samples, allowing you to quickly check the results before adding them to your palette.
    • Base (Get 1 / Get 2): Instantly retrieves your current Aseprite Foreground Color (Get 1) and Background Color (Get 2).
    • +Shade / +Light / +Sat / +Hue: Generates the corresponding color variation and adds it directly to your palette.
    • Count & Angle: Customize exactly how many shading steps you want (Count) and control the hue rotation angle (Angle).
    • Generate All: Generates all variations at once and populates your palette with a single click.

    Installation

    1. Download the .lua script file.
    2. Open Aseprite and go to FileScriptsOpen Scripts Folder.
    3. Place the .lua file inside that folder.
    4. Click FileScriptsRescan Scripts Folder. You will now see 'Color Shading Plus' in the list.

Credits This is an enhanced version (v1.2) of the original Color Shading script by Dominick John and David Capello. I (Indigolay) added the canvas sphere preview and improved the usability.

It’s free for both personal and commercial projects. If you find it speeds up your workflow, a mention of Indigolay would be much appreciated!

Omg thank you so much! That means a lot 🥹
I’d love to try creating a design just for that.
When you say “modern city,” what kind of vibe are you thinking of?
Is it more clean and minimal, or something full of lights and movement like a futuristic downtown?
Feel free to share any details — it really helps me shape the mood and style!

Hi, I recently published a new UI asset pack on itch.io.
The project is set to Public, it's not marked as Unlisted, and everything seems to be in place.

However, it's not showing up in the search results — even when I search for the exact title or keywords.

Is this delay in search visibility normal for new uploads?
Or is there something else I might need to do to get it indexed?

    Thank you for your help!

Note: I originally posted this in a different section by mistake, but have now reposted it here in the appropriate Questions & Support board. Apologies for the confusion.

    CASUAL RPG UI KIT

🚀 Launched my first UI kit on itch.io today!
After months of tweaking pixels, testing layouts, and refining the vibe… it's finally live.
This kit is all about making casual RPGs look clean, friendly, and polished — with over 644 components ready to drop into your project.
It's a small step for now, but a huge moment for me as a creator.
Would love your feedback, and I hope this helps fellow devs save time and design better games. 🙌

🎉 To celebrate the launch, it's 50% off for one week — available until April 25!
Thank you so much for your support, and I hope you find it helpful in your projects.

👉 Check it out here: https://indigolay.itch.io/casual-rpg-ui-kit
I'd truly appreciate it if you could spread the word or leave a comment! 🙏

Hi! I recently published a new UI asset pack on itch.io, and it's currently public and not unlisted. However, it's not showing up in the search results yet.

Is there usually a delay before new projects appear in search? Or is there something I might have missed in the settings?

Thanks in advance for your help!
