Hi fellow developers and gamers, I am creating this thread to create community and get exposure for my game, "Embers of the Gods".

The game is in the prototyping phase with a playable demo and I am regularly updating it. I have many features to add and updates to make before it is ready for a funding campaign, so please excuse the boredom factor until the demo is complete.

This is the latest entry into my revision history on that site's devlog:

Build 1.3.0

  • Revised races, classes and professions.
  • Replaced all player character portraits.
  • Reworked min and max attribute distribution for each race.
  • Added Tooltips for attributes and skills to recruit sheet.
  • Added mouse over info for races and professions to recruit sheet.
  • Added Tooltips for attributes and skills to character stat sheet.
  • Fixed bug with mouse over not working on equipped items.
  • Added item discarding to environment while in Inventory panel.
  • Adjusted scale of NPC’s.
  • Fixed bug with active player not being selected after combat round.
  • Removed ambient town music from combat arena.
  • Modified “Family Heirloom” quest to work if player already has chalice when starting the quest.
  • Fixed various small bugs in recruiting, combat and item usage.
  • Made spell books only usable if player knows the related skill.
  • Fixed bug with skill bonus items.

Known Issues:

  • Lightmap loading is sometimes delayed making the scene load dark then eventually update to light.
  • Load bar isn’t an accurate representation of time remaining.
  • Selection of skills defaults to profession selection when recruit is accepted. This will be fixed soon.

I welcome discussion, comments, constructive criticisms and would like to engage others about my game. Let me know if you like what I am doing and if you have any advice or gripes. I will try to include this thread in my regular updates and will keep an eye on the comments.

Updated lighting and addressed a couple issues with combat. The player cycling and selection still needs modification, but the combat is working fairly well now

Hello fans and fellow game developers, may name is Rick and I am the lead developer on Embers of the Gods.  I included this discussion feature because I value your feedback and / or constructive criticisms. I welcome suggestions for the game and some of your ideas may be included in the final version. Thanks to everyone for your participation and support.

Looking for an artist to design and create sprite sheets for our animated character portraits.

Should be able to concept images from brief racial descriptions and an overview of the regions

from which they hail. The style is quasi-realistic, quasi-medieval and quasi-steam punkish.

With the exception of the magic system, the core features of the combat system are now in place. The player can attack at range with archery weapons and up close with melee weapons, while the AI will currently only attack in melee range.

All items have been updated with new icons and their respective shop images have also been upgraded. Several variables of the player controller were tweaked, the lighting was modified, and most bugs have been eliminated. Most features are working reliably.
