there's some weird issues with playing an application in fullscreen mode-it has to do with how windows functions, and causes some very odd interactions with mouse position.
fixing this issue is outside the current scope of this project, but might be possible in the future.
you CAN put her on a second monitor while you play tf2 though, and she'll have a nice time hanging out over there c:
(size configuration is a great idea!)
Love the world and the characters! Big fan of the "mech" aesthetic, and I think you did a great job capturing it.
Really impressed with the amount of customization you put in. Bet you had some trouble with the balancing, haha! It's clear you wanted to do a lot with this project. The amount of things you did get done in a month is impressive!
If you keep going with this, maybe more passes on the balancing and enemy variety. They felt a little bullet sponge-y at times.
The art is phenomenal. Love seeing cum on a robot hand.
Really neat concept! Of all the hypnosis themed rhythm games I've seen, this is the first to actually use the genre of "trance" music, somehow.
The fact you only use one button to control this, as well as the spiral-y visuals, really lend themselves to the concept.
I do think there's a couple of things missing from making this feel as polished and direct as it could be. Moving my eyes around the outer edges of the screen doesn't lend itself well to the feeling of "zoning out to the music," and the vertical flashing bar both distracted from the spiral and didn't feel like it gave me adequate feedback. I was especially confused with the vertical bar when I started to see beats come in at the left.
The concept is there, though. With another pass at the visuals, I think this could be really incredible! I'd love to see the spiral shape or colors shift through the song too-a little pulsing would go a long way. And the music kicks ass!!
- I arrive at the function.
- I turn on my hypno-eyes. At no future step do these get turned off.
- I slap everyone in the face at least once.
- I feast.
- Everyone is now my friend! :D
I adore this concept a lot, and the work that went into the procedural physics is really palpable. It's so much fun to throw everyone around!
I really appreciate your in-depth postmortem and the design doc you included, being able to see your process was half the fun of this entry to me. The idea of "blood acting like rings from sonic" is so funny, and the physics you've made would really lend to gameplay being that fast-paced and hectic. Especially good call turning away from VR for the jam's sake-and if you keep it desktop-centric, I think you could play a lot with different movement options, and how they react with your silly physics!
So cool! The systems you've got with your narrative really add a lot to this game. I really enjoyed playing through a couple of times and seeing just how different things would look.
The writing is phenomenal-everything you could want out of a vampire story and a lot more. I always enjoyed giving myself pretty eyes...
Every game of yours I've played has such a unique texture-this one even more, likely since you made the whole engine for it. Incredible!
I absolutely adore this game!!!
The synthesis of a hypno-villain and a brain-melting falling block puzzle game work so well. You nailed the aesthetic, and oh my gosh do I adore Dr. Brainlicker's many lines. Who doesn't love an evil scientist hypnovillain? (If you do find someone, please send them to my office for a chat 𖦹)
I do only wish it were easier-although the difficulty keeps me coming back to try again!
This is made in Godot, heavily using their powerful (albeit sometimes buggy) "Window" nodes!
I used this tutorial to get me started, it might be helpful for you too: https://github.com/geegaz/Multiple-Windows-tutorial
Hey all!
My name is Vinyl, and I'll be working in a small team with some pals to make some sort of game this year!
I've been a fan of Strawberry Jam for years now, and am extremely excited to participate, especially for such a good theme.
Years ago I made HYPNOSCREEN, a narrative clicker game about being hypnotized. Since then I've been growing as a game dev in less horny circled, made TONS of projects in various circles, but haven't finished any of the horny games I've made since.
I'm excited to fix that with this jam, since the whole point of a jam is to make sure you put out SOMETHING by the end.
I'm an experienced hypnotist, game dev, and would love to chat with folks about any and all of the above. Feel free to reach out any time, my Twitter is @director_vinyl and my bsky is the same as my itchio!
Thanks for reading this! And now, please turn your attention to the screen. 🌀
Hi! This is a message for the developer.
I love this project, and am so glad to see it exist in the world! However, I have friends that are having the same kind of issues others have reported. Specifically, they are able to line everything up to be working (file directory says it is checked off, VLC is installed, ran as administrator), but on trying to click "Launch," nothing happens.
My own theory is that it is having an issue connecting to the installation of VLC player on the system. Maybe if you added a check to make sure that VLC was installed, and that the program could find and register and play videos from it, then we would be able to better narrow down what the issue is?
I understand that it's difficult to bug fix, because it just works on my system, but doing the exact same steps on another person's system can have the exact same program just not work. However, I think there is still a way to solve this, and I would like to help if I can.
I have experience with projects like these, and hate to see that it just doesn't work on some systems! I would love to help the developer if I can. Thank you!
Hey! Not sure if this game is still receiving support, but I just wanted to say, I love the project!!
I am running on an HTC Vive and am facing this exact issue, however changing the controller bindings doesn't seem to fix anything. The "trigger" and "button" controller events don't seem to adjust anything at all.
Would it be possible to add keyboard/mouse support to the VR version, to help bypass this? Or, could you be more specific about which control types are required to get past the disclaimer screen?
Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much! Sal is a personal favorite, I'm glad you liked him too~
Good calls about the changes to him, I'll take them into consideration, thank you so much!
And that idea of a consent form is REALLY good! It's 100% how I'll put in adult content later on. Thank you so so so much! (and sorry for the late response :P)
Thank you so much! The second issue you listed has been fixed, and I'm always working to try and speed up the game. The idea of a RGB value input is a really good idea, also, thank you!!!
And (although the name of that has been changed by this point) there's only one way to find out~~
(Sorry for the late response!)
If you go to the "tist" menu, and flip the switch, you can replay all of the inductions you've unlocked with each character! Including Jen's first inductions :P
I get the issue with reading and following. One day, I'll try looking into voice acting, as it seems like the best fix. But unfortunately, this may be a necessary evil for now...
More characters (and more inductions for existing characters) are on the way!
And the issue with Sal's yoyo dissapearing has been solved, thank you so much!!
(And sorry for the late response :P)
