I understand, thanks for considering it and I wish the game major success!

That depends on how much you want to happen as a result of a choice.
The documentation should provide the structure for writing out the choice paths, and I also suggest reading up on what are called "persistent flags" - things that can switch on or off at any point in the game and stay that way (there are also "default" variables - they tie to a save file but reset each time you start a new game instead of loading a save).
If you're using Ren'Py, then you can build a web distribution using the launcher using the buttons shown in the red box. You should definitely experiment more with the engine as you develop your game to get a real sense of all the tools available to you. There's a lot you can do with the logic and math around the default systems!

There is the official Ren'Py page: https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/index.html
And I have also written this post on different types of visual novel choices: https://gamejolt.com/p/so-on-tap-for-today-i-want-to-go-over-a-few-simple-choice...
There is also the RenPy subreddit where devs discuss the engine: https://www.reddit.com/r/RenPy/
Of course! Speaking from experience, any combination of the three can blend seamlessly thanks to all three being Python built! And Ren'Py is a bit easier to get the hang of because you don't have to build everything from scratch if you don't want to - the main work is just making the visuals and writing the story (which is lowkey structured like either a novel (NVL mode) or a play (ADV mode)).
The game jam page is up! And yes, it has a fair amount of time before it begins, so while you wait, keep an eye out for anyone who might want to get into Ren'Py and have them sign up!
Or if you are looking for a tiny productive break from working on a bigger project, come on down - you are welcome too!

So here we are, the project is now hosted on GameJolt and ItchIO (with a game thrown in to sweeten the deal).
As you have seen, there have been a couple of comic advertising posts on the GameJolt page. Attentive viewers will recognize them as different panels of pages posted before to my profile, but since this is the project's hub page now I think color panels to advertise are a good idea.
On another note, the Discord server is still up but has lost its focus - the EFP never sparks much discussion anymore and everyone just kinda focuses on their own thing (I take responsibility for taking to long to progress the comic story, which I think is the cause). I'm starting to feel like a lot of the art exclusive to it would be better appreciated on GameJolt, so I have plans to slowly build the archive of work I have for it. I'm still on the fence about Itch, but you guys may or may not get some new topics on this page with art.
In addition to advertising the comic, these future posts will include both official and fan artwork from years past and present, memes, and eventually every single OC that has ever been entered for integration as a guest appearance (and yes, that invitation will stay open for the comic's entire run). Of course, the retroactive devlogs of the "Journey to Eternity" game will be centered here as well (might be mostly for Screenshot Saturdays).
And I'm not gonna lie, constant oscillation between minutes of extreme happiness from fortunate events and depressive episodes from really bad ones have left my motivation to work on the comic all but eroded, but I refuse to give up because I want to see the end of the story - and I have faith that at least one of yall wants that too. If it don't apply, let it fly. If that happens to be you however, I would greatly appreciate if you continue to support by following the game page and interacting with the posts, I quite enjoy hearing different perspectives and highlights to keep in mind for future direction!
That's all for today, will be more newsletters down the line!

Hello, everyone! I am here to introduce my first hybrid VN/shooter-style game, Journey to Eternity!
It serves as a prequel to my previous game, Return to Eternity and "Chapter Zero" of the Eternal Frenemies webcomic! Play as Seraphia, Cocytus and two of their allies across four levels with increasing length and difficulty!
Packed with extras such as a character gallery and seven-tier achievement system, this game promises a fun story and gameplay that can be accessed anywhere with a browser!

As with all my games, ratings, reviews and commentary are greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone, I have just published the demo of the upcoming free-to-play kinetic novel "Heaven's Flag"!
It is a browser game that introduces the world of the story through a chance encounter between humans and magic. All you have to do is click to advance the text and navigate menus, or use the auto function to enjoy with a snack!

Please give it a play here: https://e11ed0rad0.itch.io/heavens-flag-demo
With the release of this demo, development on the main game will take a hiatus. Ratings, reviews and comments are highly appreciated as they may provide further clarity on what I do for the main game when I resume working on it! I hope you enjoy!

Correct. There will be a six-month hiatus on this project’s development after the demo releases, during which time I will work on a new story arc for the Eternal Frenemies webcomic.
After the hiatus, I will switch back to working on this project, which will realistically take a year and some change to build (refine the story draft, draw all of the artwork, compose all the music) and test so that the main release goes off without a hitch. This story has a minimum length comparable to Return to Eternity, which technically took two years to construct.
Hello everyone, I have recently finished updating my free-to-play HTML5 linear visual novel "Return to Eternity"! Come and explore the world of the Eternal Frenemies Project as you play through the origin love story of the angel Seraphia and the demon Cocytus! There are many surprises and goodies to unlock as you go!
Ratings and reviews would be greatly appreciated, and I am sure to answers any and all comments received! I would also love to read commentary about any aspects that you like such as scenes, characters, features, etc! Even if nothing sticks out to you, I hope you enjoy this lengthy free game that can be played anywhere with an Internet browser!

So I've managed to get most of the bugs (some can't be helped cos its a web build but they won't stop the play experience).
I plan to launch in the next week or so. The old builds will be replaced, which may invalidate your save data, but everything should work as intended and perhaps getting the achievements will be easier. Full list of bug fixes and features to come.
We're almost at the end of the first week, and while the ten-percent rule has not spared this game, it has performed better than expected (which was honestly crickets). I guess all my screaming into the void paid off!
That being said, the analytics on either site only show who pressed the play button, so there is no indication that anyone has played the whole game through or gotten any of the achievements. If you did, feel free to share your experience here, and note the other community post that talks about the bugs that are "expected" to occur in a playthrough.
I hope this game gets many more plays in the future!
Yes, this is the first version of the full game, I have fought for months trying my best to squash all the bugs, but some may get through the cracks. This just kinda comes with the situation but I will implement fixes to the eventual re-release with translations to different languages.
If nothing else, you should be able to get through the entire story without crashing.
Notes:
If the game throws an error when you try to access a screen, try refreshing the page.
Be careful about using the "reset all progress tool" - it may throw an error.
You may get a black screen at some points that you will have to click to get past.
Please let me know of any other bugs you find and I hope you enjoy the game regardless!
Hello, I am here with my first complete Ren'Py visual novel!
Short, sweet and low-budget with home-made art, the story follows a wingless fairy named Lilac who visits her mother's shop for a big surprise!
As the title implies, it was mainly done to get me used to working with Ren'Py for bigger projects in the future, but I love how it turned out and I have more episodes planned if it does well!
Come and play this cute little free game!!
