Hey everyone!

I’m working on Jokers of Neon, a roguelike deckbuilder built around poker hands.

It’s free to play, no ads, and available on browser + mobile.

The core idea is:

  • Build scoring engines using poker hands (flushes, straights, etc.)
  • Stack jokers, multipliers, and upgrades
  • Push deeper each run and discover new builds

I’m mainly trying to validate if the game “clicks”:

  • Is the core gameplay fun and understandable?
  • Do the runs feel engaging?
  • Would you want to keep playing after a few runs?

Any feedback is super appreciated 🙏
And if you end up trying it, leaving a review on itch would help us a lot too.

Does 31 runs to fully unlock the game sound like too much? Each run should take around 15–25 mins

Hey everyone,

We’ve been working on improving the progression system in our game Jokers of Neon (a roguelike deckbuilder inspired by poker hands), and I wanted to share what we just shipped and get feedback early.

The problem

New players were getting overwhelmed.

Too many mechanics, too many systems upfront.
It made the first runs confusing instead of engaging.

What we changed

We moved to a more roguelike-style progression system:

  • You unlock cards, items, and mechanics by playing
  • Each run contributes to your progression
  • The deeper you go, the more you unlock

Embedded learning

Before we have a traditional tutorial (99% skip it)

Now:

  • New mechanics are introduced as you unlock them
  • The game teaches you progressively through runs

What we’re trying to achieve

  • Make first runs more simple
  • Keep long-term depth and mastery
  • Encourage experimentation across runs

What I’d love feedback on

If you try it (or even just from reading this):

  • Is it clear what you’re unlocking and why?
  • Does it feel rewarding enough per run?
  • Any friction or confusion during early runs?

Try it out

Screenshots

I think analytics are useful if you want your game to grow beyond “just vibes.”

Even basic stuff like retention, session length, where players drop off, and where users are coming from can help you understand your audience better. It also lets you measure whether your marketing efforts are actually working instead of just guessing.

Could you check it out my game? Feedback is very welcome https://dubzn.itch.io/jokers-of-neon

Jokers of Neon is now on itch.io!

Hey everyone, I’m Santiago from Argentina, co-founder of Caravana Studio. We’re building Jokers of Neon, a roguelike deck-builder where poker hands, card synergies, seasonal competition, and real digital ownership come together.

Each run starts with familiar cards, but the strategy quickly opens up:
build stronger hands, discover powerful Special Cards, upgrade your deck, and chase bigger scores before the run collapses.

What is Jokers of Neon?

It is a strategy card game where poker scoring meets roguelike progression. You play hands, beat rounds, improve your deck between challenges, and try to create a build strong enough to survive deeper into the season.

Special Cards are the heart of the game. Some reward specific poker hands, some change how your score grows, and others create strange synergies that can completely reshape a run.

Play anywhere

You can play Jokers of Neon on desktop, Android, and iOS. Create an account and your progress follows you, so you can continue your runs wherever you want.

Season 3 is live

Season 3 adds new goals, new competition, and a fresh meta to explore. If you like building weird card engines and pushing one more round than you should, this is a good moment to jump in.

Thanks for checking out Jokers of Neon on itch.io. If you play a run, come tell us what kind of deck you built.
