Hi! We’re All Paws No Tacos, a small volunteer collective recently started working on short, cozy narrative exploration 2.5D game with a very tight, finishable scope (around 1–2 hours of gameplay).
About the game: You play as a cute skeleton cook who solves haiku riddles to forage magical ingredients across small biomes and cook a healing soup for a grieving wizard.
PC / Unity, No combat, No fail states, strong narrative & atmosphere focus, dark but whimsical tone. Gameplay inspo: Wytchwood, Strange Horticulture, Don’t Starve
Focus: exploration, light puzzle design, minigames, environmental storytelling
Currently we are working on vertical slice of the game and we got art direction nailed down
We’re looking for one person who can bridge design + implementation, ideally someone comfortable with:
Design side: - Whiteboxing and prototyping the current slice - Help design small, memorable biomes (clear identity, strong mood) - Help creating simple but meaningful puzzles (riddle-based, environmental) - Iterating quickly on paper to in-engine
Programming side (Unity): - Implementing gameplay systems (interaction, triggers, simple puzzle logic) - Setting up scenes, prefabs, and basic state systems -Working with UI/UX (you won’t need to design UI, but help me implement it)
Current roles covered: 1 Unity programmer, 1 animator, 2x 2D artist, 2 sound designers, 1 marketing and I’m covering basic game design, narrative, UX/UI, and creative direction
Everyone on the team has industry experience.
The goal is to ship something small, polished, and cohesive on Steam as a collective project.
Timeline & commitment: Pre-production Estimated dev time: ~12 months Volunteer / flexible schedules (we all have FT jobs, families...)
