Promising so far! I like the variation of LIs both personality-wise and looks, and I always like a good intrigue story. Kain's whole deal is very interesting. Couple of points of feedback though:
- GameStoryLog has this game tagged as Harem, but the dialogue in the intro ("keeping you from others", or something like that, when discussing choices) implies it isn't. Might want to clarify that
- Renders are sometimes grainy, and hair textures are notably low quality. I'm sure that's just an issue of your GPU not being top of the line and honestly doesn't bother me much, but it's very noticable. The animations themselves are great, though, even if they're fairly low-quality.
- Too much "tell, don't show". Having a codex is great for looking up information when you come back to the game after a few months when a new update is out, but having info in it from the start that doesn't appear in dialogue makes it feel like homework rather than a place to go "what was that again?"
What content tags are you planning for this game? Edit: Also please consider mirrors on other websites than Mediafire. Their download speed is incredibly slow. Ideally, I'd love to be able to auto-update the game with the Itch app. If the game is too big to upload directly to Itch, you can request an increased size limit for they upload.
That's a shame. I understand the immersion, but if it's a scene where the MC isn't present that argument doesn't really stand I think. Either way it makes it feel to me like I'm missing context.
Some great writing though. The first bit of the game is visually, uh, *rough* (the MC's face looks a bit caved in... when we see it from the side) I'm confident this rework will help a lot with that.
Whether it can be installed with the Itch app doesn't have to do with the game itself, just where you upload it to. You have to upload on Itch directly and if your file is too big you have to request a filesize limit increase, something a lot of devs don't seem to want to bother with, which is a shame because the launcher lets us auto-check for and download updates automatically rather than having to keep track of individual AVN pages manually to see whether they've gotten any updates.
Got a bug: Got and accepted the invitation from Anna, but I clicking on the laptop in the evening does nothing and I can't progress. (Edit: Nevermind, it's on the phone, not the laptop)
Great game, though there's definitely some proofreading that needs to be done to clean up the English version. Bonus points for real art, instead of using AI
Looks very interesting! What tags are in / planned for the game?
Edit: Just played it, and it's *very* promising. Gorgeous renders, excellent use of soundtrack, fantastic dialogue with characters I immediately cared about. MC isn't a blank slate and feels like a person of his own, the player choices just guiding his actions. Looking forward to see where this is going.
Hey Dev, I hope the comments from those that didn't like the flashback scene didn't discourage you from continuing. I didn't like the scene either, but the fact that it could be skipped was more than plenty to make up for it, and didn't in any way diminish from the narrative goal of the scene in my opinion.
Please keep going, the story of this game is great, and actually hits very close to home in some ways.
Excellent animations and some of the best 3d models I've ever seen, but the rest is an uninspired nerd fantasy with just bad writing. At least three of the four girls are just name-changed big-boobed versions of characters already in fiction (Zoe is Gwen from Ben10, Daisy from Mario didn't even have her name changed, and I believe Siera is from Overwatch) and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm just not recognizing the fourth. There are a million rooms in the house, most of which serve no function and don't ever really come up. That one I can excuse considering how early in dev we still are, but if a room is still unused in the current version I'd much rather it just not be there yet instead of having a list of a few dozen locations cluttering up the menu that I won't be using or needing. There's no story to speak of whatsoever aside from the flimsy excuse of moving in with these people.
Simply put, I'm missing originality and creativity. Just good models and animations doesn't really cut it for me anymore. And to be clear, those *are* absolutely fantastic. But it's not enough to keep up the overall rating imho
