I wish I was better at this kind of game, but this doesn't mean I didn't enjoy myself playing it !

I love what you did with the theme, love the music and the visuals. Really like everything you did ! One thing I wasn't a fan of were the controls, maybe I should've tried switching up because you're giving us a few possibilities but I stuck with Z/X/C, I kept mixing up the keys and being bad and dying, BUT this is not my genre or predilection so it might also be on me !

Anyways, really great idea and great execution, and I forgot about this but I like the fact that the new spells come first in the "next spells" list, it makes you think wether you should recharge now or after emptying your magazine

I found the game too easy once I figured out the pump/toilet thingy and then the spin became obsolete I think?

I liked the experience tho and would like to see slightly more, maybe a money goal or something ?

Good job on your game ! Have a good one :)

Simply no notes, great game, great music, great visuals, the mouse cursor disappears when you wanna destroy a gondala but that's all. If I really want to add a note, I'd say that it needs more content haha I'd like to see this game with a longer lifespan, more gondolas etc. Great job !

Hi !

I have really mixed feelings about this game because I really liked the vibe, the atmosphere, the dialogue and all, but I really feel like mayber there's not enough context ? I like the eerie conversation but I would have liked it better if there was a resolution or maybe a longer conversation. If you plan on adding more to this game, hit me up and i'll gladly play again ! You might just have needed more time, like most of us so it's alright :)

Had a good time, but I could have had a gooder time I feel like, great work and thank you for this experience :)

Yeah so if I'm not mistaken it's because the way the workers are assigned their "job" relies on an array, and this array is modified when we move things around (both the workers array and the windmills one) and sometimes it tries to reach an index that doesn't exist anymore.. I'll try to fix this today because you might not be the only one that encounters this bug !

The heatwave was just the worst haha so well timed to the whole duration of the jam lol anyways thanks again and have a good day :)

Hey ! Thank you so much for the compliments :) I'll paste the answer I just did to the other reviewer

I understand the font is not the most readable, we made it kinda quickly and I'm sure there's a way to improve it while maintaining the childlike aspect of it, we'll try some things in the future I think ! (also it's really close to my handwriting so I can read it easily but I reaaaaally understand that not everyone might), if/when we update the game we'll for sure at least change slightly the font AND give the ability to change it to a more readable one for accessibility

We got caught up with the deadline and didn't give ourselves much time to test, the heatwave in where we live drained all our energy so we just litteraly didn't think about showing prices, it was shown in the beginning and we just forgot to add it back.. We'll add it for sure in later updates (Cahdmus is really motivated to keep updating this game at least for a little while)

For the crash, do you remember if you did something earlier that could have caused it ? i.e. moving/removing a windmill or worker house ? there's a few bugs there that we didn't have time/didn't find the right way to fix so this might be the reason, gonna work on that today and see if we can submit a late update !

Cahdmus will be glad to know her illustrations and color choices are appreciated :) (and the decorations was her idea as well) I'll try your game too after a little rest :) have a good one !

Thank you for your input !

Thank you very much for your interest in our game, can't wait to try yours !

The game took me by surprise but it was a pleasant surprise ! I like the idea and the execution. Great use of your limited time (I hope you feel better :) )

I also loved the music switches, really tense and then such a peaceful atmosphere ! Loved it !

Really cool game but at first I wasn't sure there was more to it than the first level, it's only once I fished a second time that I was like "wait, that's different" and then I was intrigued and had to finish it, great job overall  either way !

I love the fishing mecanic ! I love the idea and I really love the vibe of the game !

One issue I got (and it might be my PC) is the upgrade menu was very laggy, the tooltips have latency and the money number going down is slow, then once I go back to fishing everything is back to normal.

Really great game tho ! I'd like a downloadable version if you update it :)

Hi ! Sorry for taking such a long time to answer, we're all pretty tired, we've given our everything to do this game :)

I personnaly did the powerUps "icons" (tospot46 did the cards design and Cahdmus did all the rest of the pixel art I think) so thank you personnaly for this :)

In the new version coming in a few days on the page (along with a patch note because there's a lot of small new stuff) I've added a function that spawns the fishes at their normal sizes and makes them size up to the upgraded version shortly after they spawn. I think it's a great idea !

For the rest of the visuals for the upgrades, I agree it should be more clear how much and what is upgraded by your cards so we'll work on that soon !

I (personnally) think the timing for the big fishes is alright, it might need small tweaks but I think the challenge lies in fishing enough fishes by the end of day so maybe the difficulty ramps up as a downside to an upgrade that's not there yet ? To me, the better you are, the easier it is for you to fish fast but you might still need bigger fishes and/or more strength etc to be able to reach the weight requirement before end of day.

You're right that we might need to be less forgiving the more you progress maybe or something like that, also we might need to tweak the stats on the card to make them more impactful, then bigger fishes would be even harder as the progress bar would be faster and faster. Tell me what you think !

Thank you again for your input and have a good day :)

Hi ! Sorry for taking such a long time to answer, we're all pretty tired, we've given our everything to do this game :)

Thank you very much for appreciating our work, it feels really great to have nice feedback ! :)

For the fishes, I think it's intended ? There's no card for this yet, but we plan on adding one that would be like "tasty lure" that makes fishes more likely to go to the lure once they're close to it. I might've misunderstood your issue tho.. Don't hesitate to tell me.

We've done a few updates since the deadline, I'll add the files and some kind of patchnote once we're sure there's no gamebreaking bug in the new version :)

what a lovely review ! thank you very very much ! (I'm the one who made the audio and it's like the first time I make my work public so it really means a lot !) and yeah we're gonna work on the durations and we're also most probably gonna add a "finished task" button or something like that :)

again thank you very much and if I remember correctly, the audio work done on your game was really good too !

Hey ! Sorry for not answering earlier, we were kinda busy with life and all

Glad you liked the atmosphere and the vibe :) (I made the music and sound fx, its one of the first times I share my work in public so I'm really glad you like it)

The "done" button we'll add really soon, we also are not fully done fine-tuning the mini games durations, it might take a while until we find the sweet spot

As for the time left indicator, it should be there in the web and desktop versions (not in the original release at the deadline time tho), I might have messed up with some uploads so maybe you didn't play the right version ?

And yeah for the lack of content I understand you totally but as I think I said in another reply, this was our first game and first experience with godot so we had to learn as we went :) I was pleasantly surprised with how accessible godot is tho so we'll update it regularly (for now I think) until we have everything we have in mind which at least include :

An inventory system that limits how much sand and wood you have, making it necessary to use your gold to buy more and/or a minigame where you go gather those materials. We might add alternative sands and woods that could have some kind of effects on the crafted mirror and then witches request such and such kinds of mirror like beauty spells, aging, strength things like that.

I was thinking also that witches could require a minimum quality for the mirror and thus refuse to buy the mirror you just crafted if it's too badly crafted (then the mirror goes in your inventory and you can sell it later without having to craft another one, or I was also thinking of recycling your mirror in a minigame where you grind the glass to make some sand and break the frame to make firewood), anyways I won't speak too much about the ideas we have because we might not include them all and I don't wanna make promises haha but yeah we'll add more content for sure !

Thank you so much for your feedback and have a nice day :)

This is not typically the genre of game I play but I found myself enjoying the challenge, even tho I don't really like screamers lol

Great job on the game and the idea, I think it would benefit from more of a lore if you decide to expand on it (like who you are and why you found yourself in this room), but by itself it's a great little game. Great and impressive job on the engine too ! You can be proud of yourself

Really really great suggestions ! We'll think about that and probably implement something like what you suggested :) thank you again for all this feedback !!

(Oh also yes the timer isn't entirely finished, I added it "quickly" yesterday I think because it was really lacking, I'll for sure improve it in the ways you said)

Edit: Oh wow that's a long comment, enjoy the reading ahah

Hi ! First of all thank you for giving us all this feedback, I'm glad you liked the music (I made it and yeah it sound like it's played in reverse because I thought it would also loosely fit the theme or mirrors :) ), Cahdmus will also be glad that you liked her drawings !

" does how you perform in each mini-game affect how much gold you are given?" -> currently "only" three mini-games influence the price/quality of the mirror : the one where you smash glass, the runes and the cutting (those last two are the ones we spent most time developping so we're glad they were your favorites), we plan to either show a recap after each minigame like you said or when the mirror is finished, giving you a rating and more explanation on the quality of the mirror (eg how you performed in minigames)

the first minigame where you cook the sand and make it into a glass blob is just the introduction, I dont think it will ever have an impact on the score, but the one where you paint the glass will or at least we'll try to make it have an impact.

"I also wasn't sure what the goal of the painting game was." : that's entirely on us, as we've been so much inside our heads that we didnt realize people weren't there with us ahah. Sooo when we started making the game we looked up the process IRL to make mirrors, and well you take a glass sheet and you coat it with reflective material, that's our thought behind this mini-game, I think we'll improve that either by stating that in the game hint, or making it visually more obvious, as for the goal of the minigame, it's to fully paint it and not let anything blank. But I agree that it's both not obvious and maybe not really engaging ? idk

As you might know when you playtest something that you developped, you don't always see the things a "normal" player would see, so for example the fact that you can't erase and try to re-draw the shape is something I personnally haven't thought about and I think it's a great idea. Overall the timing on the mini-games is something we'll have to keep fine-tuning because the time needed varies greatly on the dexterity of the player and with feedback like yours we'll be able to find a sweetspot.

"There was also a small issue where I was retracing one of the swirly symbols and the time ended before I realized and I accidently drew on the next rune where I didn't want to." : yeah this I saw and it happened to me a few times and it pissed me off lol, I'll try to fix it in a way that's not too intrusive, maybe put some cooldown time between the runes, I dont really want to add a button "play" before each rune for example as I think that would be too intrusive but know that it will be fixed in at most a few days.

Oh and I forgot about the gold : For now it's just an indicator of how well you performed (but we might need to show the calculation to make it more clear as you said) but we also plan to add different kinds of sand for example that would maybe add a special trait to the mirror.

And to introduce those different materials we're thinking of adding some traveling merchant or maybe a permanent shop to be able to buy those, thus making the gold useful. We have a few ideas for improvements and new features but in 10 days, without any experience with godot before that's the most we could bring to your screens :)

I think I've answered every point you've brought up but if I forgot something or if you have any follow-up questions I'm glad to answer !

oh yeah I kinda gave up on that level for now haha I think i'm too tired to coordinate my movements lol

ahah same, so tired ! this has been a tiring weekend (and week before that)

I love it ! Really great idea, I feel like the controls are not responsive enough as a ghost maybe ? but its not really a problem ! it's a great idea and a great game !

I'm bad at this game but it's a really great idea and great execution ! I'll probably try to improve myself :)
