I will always remember the player who played this version of the game for 7 hours. Thank you so much for inspiration to continue work on this!

Coincidence, I JUST played your game too! I agree with a lot of what you said here tho, THANK YOU for the in-depth feedback! We do hope to improve and make a better version without as much of the time constraint, that's mostly why things be like they do! some top priorities are to fix the framerate dependence and THE SWING. we really want to make that a better feeling thing, and I hope you play the next version when we do!
First, I will say i stopped after the 20th time getting blasted by a laser until I'm dead cause I got hit once and knocked back, but I'm getting a sense I'm not as good as other players or maybe I rushed sorry. But I can tell there is something cool here. I like the designs for the enemies and scene elements, tho the BRIGHT red kinda hurts to look at, but I really like this MC. This little lizard gremlin thing. LOOK AT UM GO THEY ARE FEROCIOUS GET OUT OF THE WAY, lol. Its a fun design. the air slice is cool but also fills your screen with that blue effect, maybe could be toned down. visibility is an issue as others have said, especially with the cyclone shot thing. BUT the platforming via the slice, that felt cool to complete. If I had more time I'd like to play it more, but I'll wait to see if you make any improvements!
Very solid, it was on the limit of my comfortable level of difficulty, but it was an interesting concept. The visuals are charming and the music fits in well. Good entry overall! Personally I think you have a few more things than needed, but I get the point, like a bite sized metroid but I wonder if all of it is really needed. I think the timer, while it makes sense with your adherence to the theme, it drastically changes the way I played the game and I'm not sure if it helps the overall focus. like you have all the ingredients for a metriodvania, if time is the major factor why bother having ammo to the arrows for example? especially since the bombs don't have ammo, it just sorta dilutes the pool of what COULD be health dropping from enemies. I felt like the time forced me to rush and there was a lot of time i just fell instead of jumped and it made it feel like the game wanted to be a lot more fluid but it wasn't quite there yet. Or I'm just bad idk. TY for making a game tho!
I was swearing at my screen, ngl. I'm not a fan of the frustrating type of difficulty this evokes, its the only thing holding me back from liking it more. I just found myself saying "man why everything gotta be so hard", AND you make me use keyboard? Controlling it made me felt like the guy looked, Dumb and fumbling to understand whatever wizardry you put in my stupid pinkish purple hands. It's probably a "me" problem, the game seems like it controlled as intended but it never considered me as a player and my lack of abilities, HEH.
Aside from that, I do really like the concept. It needs a bit more to be fun for me, and maybe for me that's just a controller but I was having some trouble if that wasn't clear. Thanks for making something unique though!
Finished my first playthrough, I agree with a good amount of comments here so I won't repeat much, but I did enjoy it! I think the mortar weapon as like the main weapon is a decent idea, so it would be great to see that play into the platform/puzzle parts somehow and maybe focus on that, you had an interesting take on the metroidvania platformer formula and seem to have a recipe for a more methodical/puzzler type platformer if you leaned into that, like the weapon being a mortar you have to aim ahead, plan your moves and whatnot, maybe lean into that and somehow the abilities can plan into the mortars or modify the shot as it passed through or near it maybe. In any case there is some cool ideas here! glad I tried it, and thanks for hopping into my stupid the #dev2days thing, that was fun for me too.
Note: people kept downloading the oldest buggiest build because it was on top, so I deleted everything but the most recent, but note it was submitted 5 minutes before the deadline, we aren't trying to be dishonest. Any updates past the game will be set up in a separate itch.io page, just to be clear.
Looks like you may already have teams you are busy with, but I was going to ask if you mind if I used some of your music in the background of some dev logs should I decide to make them? I'd credit you however you like, but I was planning to make some quick videos or something to post to twitter every so often. Let me know if there is any tracks on your Soundcloud or wherever that I could use, thank you.
