I appreciate this a lot, very helpful, I have considered cutting a lot out on the first suburb level, but I had not considered saving that level for later...that's a good idea, and I can probably do that and make a brand new intro level like you said with way more destruction detail, I like that idea. I'm going to do that. 😀

Thanks for playing the game brimstone! :) I've really appreciate the feedback, and I'm glad you liked it! I'm working on updating the game with fixes to some of the concerns:
Water will hurt you over time, but you can kinda swim in it a little bit, allowing you to recover before dying.
I'll bring the camera back a bit and shooting monsters will only be allowed to shoot if on-screen.
Add a melee attack and a charge attack to the boss, and fix the ability to stun lock him.
Explosive barrels will have a much more sensible radius of damage. Instead of doing a set number of damage, damage will be reduced over distance, so you take much less damage the further you are, but can still die if standing next to an explosion. Also, cars will be explodable too. :)
Thanks for the feedback! I've been working on a ton of the critiques including slingshot being held down, monster bleeding intervals, grenade counter, and the boss difficulty. I'll update the demo once all the fixes are made, but I plan to have more attacks for the boss and reduced chance of flinching.
I really appreciate the out of bounds bug, that's extremely helpful and will fix that right now! I appreciate the feedback on the bat sound, I can tone it down for sure :)
The mini games can be exited at any time by pressing pause and select or backspace, but I'll definitely add a pause menu :)
hey, thanks man! i'm glad you had fun! I'm currently working on some of these concerns, the blast radius of the barrells, the current state of the rocket boss, and interactible / destructible objects in the level, or even visually interesting elements, for sure. I really appreciaate the feedback on the blob, i'll fix that right now! (it's a simple fix of if animation_player.is_playing() > animation_player.stop()), but that's definitely one of those things that, as a developer, i would have simply overlooked
Hey thanks for playing and giving great feedback :) I must ask, which key would you prefer for grenade? because it's also right click
I did submit last year, but I've massively updated my game since then with a ton of new features, in fact the rolling and grenades, those are all new :) As I've been making the game I've been updating the core gameplay loop so I wanted to submit again to get more feedback. I hope that's cool
WOW! I really appreciate the in depth review, this was awesome, and extremely helpful and insightfu! Here's some fixes i'm making for future updates and the finished game based on your input.
-I've changed the slingshot method to holding the input.
-controller support in the settings menu is really hard, but added controller diagram
-baseball bat will not slow you down.
-Will work on stretched monitor
-will give rocket boss more attacks including charge :)
-adding Grenade / Molotov counter
Only issue with the numbers are, that limits how many weapons I can have in the game. I'm dead set on the doom style of picking up weapons and just adding them to your inventory array, but if I have too many weapons, the numbers won't go far enough. I could do that, but also I'd have to limit the number of weapons in my game to no more than 9 :(
Yeah object ddestruction is definitely planned but that's more of a luxury feature I'll add at the end of development, but I would love to have it in the game. The melee hit ox was something I've been tweaking and trying to balance between realistic and user friendly, I'll keep tweaking :) thanks for the input. I greatly appreciate it!
As awesome as the graphics are, they may have been the downfall for me personally. the enemies sometimes blend in with the background and the effects can obscure enemies as well, which happened a lot as they can sometimes take up the entire screen. Would love to see this expanded upon though and i definitely understand the love this game is getting as it does have very good graphics. good job.
This game is awesome. I loved the gameplay and it left me wanting more. I love the music, and sounds... I feel like this could easily be expanded upon. It's a simple idea, but you did a really good job of making that simplicity work and feel very elegant. It's just a really good concept that was executed really well. it reminds me of a quote by Bruce Lee: "Simplicity is the key to brilliance."
