Ahh that’s really cool, I’ve heard of colour quantisation but I’ve never tried it out myself. I suppose it’s kind of required if you want to stick to a colour palette while using lighting effects. Thanks!

Seriously good lighting effects! My favourite is the pulsing rings around the chips.
I’m not sure if I think the hover would be better off being a separate input to the jump or if I just need to git good but I definitely struggled.
From what I can see there are a tonne of puzzles which is really impressive for a jam game.
Very interested to see how what makes the text fade-out look so cool!
Great work, feels kind of like if VVVVVV had a baby with Animal Well.
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate the comprehensive feedback! :D
I’m so glad somebody finally reached the end hahah. I could probably have done a better job at communicating the power of the bombs!
I used quite a lot of shader stuff to get the scanline effect working how I wanted. So please do have a look around!
I guess I got unlucky and didn’t get any heart drops.
For web, I just tend to test each new thing on web right away. If you set the html5 export to be “Runnable” you can use the remote deploy button at the top right of the editor (where run, pause, and stop is) to directly launch the game into a debug web build on a locally hosted html server which is really handy.
As long as the project’s renderer is set to “Compatibility” I’ve never had any issues with shaders not working on web. I tend to use them quite a lot in my jam games and I made my own crt shader for this which works perfectly well on web :D
Thank you very much! You can check the source code yourself here but essentially, it uses a TextureRect with a simple shader which controls the fading in/out. For the cool design it uses a GradientTexture2D configured as a radial gradient with mirror repeat and with the ‘from’ and ‘to’ settings very close to create concentric rings which are mirrored across the texture.
Swapping your body parts with those of mutant creatures is such a cool idea and it’s implemented really well! The huge variety of models was super impressive and I love their textures too, the whole theme of the game is really cohesive. Great music too, the whole thing works together very well. Amazing work team!!
Really cool game. I love Gachiakuta and I think you used that inspiration really well! I didn’t have the screen jitter issues that the other commenter had but I think it’s probably a bit too difficult for a jam game. Some reliable heals or a dodge roll would be a big help. The art was great and the variety of weapons and enemies was really impressive. Overall a really great entry, congrats team! :)
