Hi everyone! 👋
We just put up the first playable prototype of Wall and War, and we'd love strategy players to tear it apart.
Play free in your browser: https://compotgamesstudio.itch.io/wall-and-war

The idea: we're merging three strategy genres that are usually separate games:
- Tower defense - pave plots, raise walls, place cannon towers around your keep
- Base raiding - deploy troops at the enemy's border and tear their base down, Clash-of-Clans style
- Realtime command - and here's the twist: your troops aren't on autopilot. You steer the assault yourself while defending your own side.
Each round: prepare → battle → collect income (minus upkeep - overbuilding punishes you) → research upgrades → repeat, 20 rounds to decide the winner. Fog of war hides the enemy's half until you scout it.

Fair warning: this is a raw prototype - placeholder art, rough edges, two unit types. What we're testing is whether the core loop is fun before we build everything on top of it.
If you play it, we'd genuinely love to know:
- Is the three genre mix fun, or fighting itself?
- Did realtime troop control feel meaningful, or would autobattle be fine?
- What ONE thing would you add or change first?
And a promise: if we build a feature you suggested, your name goes in the credits. That's our official thank you.
Thanks for reading - see you in the comments! 🏰⚔️
