Maybe its not the same version of the game.

Mostly, RenPy can only loads save data that made by the same game version. If you update the game version (which you do to get the latest chapters), it's not guaranteed the old ones can be loaded. It's a function the dev has to implement carefully and only few devs get this done without any problems.

Other games, like "DDLC" or "Historia" have a intended self-destroying mechanism that destroys your progress when you hit a bad end, but in this game it shouldn't be the case.

Just copy it to the new computer in the exact same location and re-run the game, your saves will be there.

Wow, absolutely stunning!!! Never I played a game which such a great "interactive" talk to the player (just finished Happiness 1 and Happiness 2 - those two and Null which I started with, like so many others how I know now). How you anticipate the readers thoughts, rejecting certain choices and give every character a deeper meaning, divine! You definitely have great abilities in reflecting your own creations like an "observer" (haha) - no honestly, perfect empathy!

Plus, the story is exciting. Yeah, it was Null which attracted me originally - but now I am eager to learn the whole metaverse of Happiness.

Sometimes I am sad about the stories not being longer or lack of simple black-and-white vision so that I can blame only one characters as the evil and being proud the MC never makes bad choices on his own. But that's how real life is working, isn't it? I can only assume that every person in the game (even the butterfly entity) maybe have honorable  or at least reasonable motives - to make it more difficult for us to pick one solely mastermind that is responsible for all that trouble.

I also have to praise you for a healthy mix of good and bad events in the games, at least until now (cant say for the games I still have to play).

Some of the music could be better sometimes (speakig of the electronic ones), but maybe its just because of me being spoiled by great companys infinite budget set. And then there are unexpected welcome surprises again, like Radwimps variation theme at the end of Happiness 2 - nobody of us would dare to draw a line towards Kimi no Na wa here, absolutely not! It took a minute or so to verifying me not imaging things. Powerful timetravel vibes, for sure!

Okay, now I'll continue playing, just wanted to let you know about my positive experiences.

I spent some more time in it and found my Avast ransomware protection to be the culprit. Like it seems it does not allow alteration to games sav files once the process was not the one who created it, which is all but the first time od starting the game.

That means you dont need to investigate time. I have to make an exclusion for Avast here. But thanks.

I have to report a heavy bug in this game. Every new PC restart the engine in "Happiness 2 remastered" shows a blackscreen (windowed) only. I have to delete/rename/move "Happiness_2_sf.sav" to make it start again but then my save slots can not be overriden anymore. To reenable saving I have to delete both SAV files and start over. This happens every day. I don't know about the next versions but Happiness 1 did not have this problem.

Maybe you could look into this, Fouzi?

Hey Komisari, I just want to inform you that Cloudflare DNS servers started to blocking your entire profile here on itch. Which is strange, because no other NSFW site here on itch is blocked.

Maybe you want to tell Cloudflare to stop that? I mean, for myself I can switch to another DNS but other people might think that your page would be shut down completely...

The third episode was anounced last year. Then before 7 months testing was initiated. Debugging for 7 months is a bit hard to believe, so for the time being there is no update.

Just a hint (because I create a lot of installers for many years now): Use Inno Setup, and for the best compatibility use v.5.5.7-unicode (not ansi).

Its free for private and commercial purposes, can be edited+compiled in the same editor (unlike e.g. NSIS or Python), feels a bit like Visual Studio or Notepad++, and has extremely well documented manuals online. v. 5.x is backward compatible down to Windows 2000.

Its "AWESOME"! NINJAKIWI calls its game like THIs.

Awesome, finally a game that works without register or login and without any DLL error or "is not longer supported" message.

But: Could you make your installer installing to ProgramFiles by default, its the common way (admin rights for copying to desktop only is extreme). Plus, you should copying your "verification" file to "%AppData% by default with your installer. That would make the procedure much easier.

Will definitely try. Might take a while cause I have lots of games to test before but I was really fond of Inciting Incident and the story ended with a cliffhanger, so I am interested :)

Yes, I know. But this was not Defender but Avast. A good indicator might be VirusTotal, for my programs there are false positives too lots of times. Then I have to contact the AV vendors to make them whitelist the file.

That's kinda strange, actually it never happened before that a Renpy project was flagged as malware to me.

Maybe you could recompile it and check against false positives on VirusTotal?

Do you perhaps forgot to compile the app as an standalone executable in version 0.1.6?

People like me who aren't familiar with renpy programming would have a hard time to use DiskClick with only the script files.

Just want to mention: Flash saves under Microsoft Windows are in dir %AppData%\Macromedia\ . Make sure to save the whole Flash Player folder in a safe place and then you can import it back anytime. BTW: You did not need to have the software "Adobe Flash Player" be installed to make it work, neither for IE, nor Chrome, nor Firefox - the standalone projector is enough (portable and continue to work in any windows OS).

99,5% of all flash games are playable with standaloine projector v.32, but some of mateuszskutnik games need standaloine projector v.10 to work, like Submachine 6.

Are you contemplate 'just' easter eggs or an actual sequel of EGC by the term 'surprise'?

The dev should really post this fix not only on Discord but here too. Its more than 3 years now we acknowledged of this one.

Workaround/Fix:

Launch the game, press SHIFT + G, change the renderer to ANGLE and then restart the game for the change to take effect. Now the Evie scene does not cause a crash any longer.

Actually there weren't any update since July, 2024 - after that only a notice from the dev about changing concept. Version 0.2.8 is not available for free.

Come on guys, dont be too hard on Caribdis. His only attention was to treat us something nice. Besides, the game is free - official there is no money taken away from anyone. Copyright is a law, but hell, its a shame it has to target even free art. And this game is art, the best I have ever seen! So sad for the music to be gone...

I absolutely loved these little (very vague) jump scares! They are the extra spices in the story for me. Hopefully Komisari will produce much more of them...

So far then I have collected the Bad End, Lost End, Dead End, Good End and True End.

This game is amazing, well-crafted and beyond most everyones imagination. Like "Elevator game with Catgirls" its worth reading every single word and taking time to taking in the atmosphere.

But I've a problem with my game. Probably I am simply to stupid but I tried nearly everyhing else before asking you, so here I go:

Five endings I got by myself, but then there is the secret one.

Really, I tried now about 20 playthroughs only for this last route (spent several days), in all I got the clues were recommended to get the secret ending. According to the guides on Steam and YouTube I missed nothing - but nevertheless the "secret passage" does not open for me. I did all riddles, found all easter eggs, gentle choices, flowers+notebook, dancing, True End - but no key. I did lots of minor variations in hope to stumble on it, but in vain.

For the very tiny chance it might being just my Windows 11 tempering with the VN causing a bug (heard from RenPys being able to actually do this), can someone provide a savegame that leads me to the secret end?

(I think I proofed myself being worthy enough by now, really.)

I just played the game again. Absolutely amazing!

Now I really wish there would be a sequel. Do you think, one day you find the mood to continue the story?

Usually it seems abandoned, but actual the dev has only very (very) big iterations of deployment. And, no, the progress is the same like 2,5 years ago, but he icreased the image quality since then a lot (it was the last update).

Like two years ago, Komisari plans to finish it. But almost no one really knows when this day will come. Maybe on Discord there are some more details about it, but the ETA is unknown.
