Thanks for yet another devlog! And big thanks to highlighting how you made the cutscene skip. I've saved that Disk plugin and I'll have to look at that later!
I'll also make sure to hop on the game later today to see the new changes in play!
Keep it up 🙌

For the skip, is that supposed to work on the Itch web built? It doesn't seem to work for me, but I could also have been using multiple devices. I'm not a 100% on that one.
EDIT: After closing the tab and reopening, the intro now indeed skips. If you could include how you've done that on a web export, I'd love to read about it in a devlog.

I think the WAD controls are much better! I'd personally map fire to spacebar, as that felt natural to me, but again, this is a personal opinion. I'd gather some more before changing it to suit one player. Having the controls listed now is a good addition anyways! One final note, perhaps in the web don't default to using control, as control + w is close tab in a browser, which happened to me in a test just now.

Keep it up man. Looking forward to the next devlog entry!

Thanks for writing these so we can have a look inside your 'kitchen'. And I must say, the music is amazing and fits well!
A few small things to consider (I know it's a game jam and time is limited, but I wanted to let you know anyways):

  • The intro is fairly long without an option to skip. It's very cool, but having seen it 3 days in a row it does take fairly long from the loading to actual gameplay. (Very minor, I know)
  • The controls were confusing to me. Perhaps you can add them in the game description, but I expected something with WASD, that didn't work, found out space Q and E were suppose to be used. Nothing wrong with that per se (Although I'd argue A and D would be more common), but I'd assume most player (like me) would skip the controls at first and jump straight into the game. I haven't figured out how to fire yet.

All in all, very minor points, and it's a cool project that I'm happily following along. But I figured I'd share them, perhaps you find some value in them 🙌.

Good luck on the rest of the project!

I learned that the hard way! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the constructive criticism. Much appreciated!

Thanks, the feedback is much appreciated 👏

Love your entry! Was surprised when suddenly my head was  on a chain, would be nice to add the option to eat with that if you decide to develop it further.

Felt reactive, good to play and nice graphics and sound, well done!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed my first adventure into Godot 👏

Originally I had the idea that there would be choices/upgrades sprinkled throughout, where one of them was to speed up the text/game. I couldn't deliver it in time unfortunately.

Agreed! I had to cut it due to time limitations unfortunately.

Original idea, and cool mechanics with the orbital gravity. It took me a while to get it, but once I did, it was nice to play! Chill sounds too, overall great experience.

thanks! I appreciate the kind words!

I agree with BaconEggsRL, it felt confusing at first, but then grows on you. The music is lovely. Took me 103 seconds to finish the level!

It doesn't seem to work.

That makes sense.
Thanks for playing and the feedback 👏!

I couldn't resist pressing L. Great and unique game, love to see it developed further.

Fun concept, great dice animation. Would recommend a bit more polish. The dice and dice slots felt fairly small, and when clicking next turn and throw dice in rapid succession it sometimes bugs out the opponents dice.

Regardless, fun game. Definitely see the appeal here!

I'll be honest, I thought it would be a feeder type game, but I was pleasantly surprised by what you made. Impressive to make it whole and appealing with such a limited colour palette.

Unique visual style, good job! I think the controls could be improved upon, the car felt a bit slow to respond sometimes. Nonetheless, great submission. Especially the morph transition was impressive 👏.

I'm not sure if I died at the end (There weren't any enemies on screen), or if that was the end of the game.

Lovely little game! I definitely see the potential here. Art was in my opinion the strongest point!

If you continue it at a later date, you could consider:

  • Adding some form of guidance or tutorial or hint to get started. Since it's still small it's easy to figure out though.
  • I couldn't seem to get the dice rolling in the menu to work.
  • Would be great if the created mutants had a purpose!

Power in simplicity. I was wondering where it'd lead while playing. Great choice of colours, and it goes well with the page theme. The music is great too.

Only critique I'd have is that I wasn't sure if it had ended.

Thanks, great feedback!
I tried dabbling with shaders, but couldn't get it to work with little time. For sound I had plans to unlock it step by step, but also that got scrapped due to time
