Hi Skdursh,
I'm so sory to hear that you experienced the demo this way. But I have to say, the latest version of Buried Below's demo does not have a timed ending, nor did the previous update uploaded to either itch or steam. The demo ends upon entering the Cemetery and it's cut scene ends. This is intentional and not timed because that's the exact spot the intro of the game is fully ended and the puzzle solving inside the forest starts. If the game did end abruptly at another spot, you might have been playing the first build of the game or found a bug inside the demo. If that's the case, please join our discord and reach out to me, Justbr._ (Justus) on discord directly so I can solve this issue. Thank you so much for giving it a shot anyways and I'd love to see you return for the full release.
Hi Faded,
Thank you for trying the demo and for being honest. I do appreciate that a lot.
I understand where you are coming from. The current demo is focused heavily on the opening intro, which is meant to build the character setup, story and relationship before the game moves into the forest and the mine which are at a very different pace and gameplay style. That said, I agree that the demo currently ends before players get enough of the actual exploration side, which can leave the wrong impression of what the full game is.
This coming week, I’ll be pushing a major demo update that extends the demo quite a bit and includes a lot of changes to the existing section as well. The new part should give a much better feel for the exploration and pacing outside of the intro.
You should be able to continue from your old checkpoint after updating, but restarting is also an option if anything feels off.
The rest of Buried Below is paced very differently like I mentioned, with much more exploration and far almost no dialogue heavy scenes outside of important story moments and endings.
I appreciate the feedback and I hope you give the updated demo another shot once it is live or return for the full release this summer.

Hey everyone!
I’m excited to share the free demo for my new game, Buried Below, now available on itch.io.
Buried Below is a story rich psychological survival horror game and the next major step after my previous horror game, The Motel. This demo lets you play the opening part of the game and gives a first look at the world, tone and story behind the full release planned for this summer.

Quick summary:
'An old tape replays your worst memory. A camping trip. A fierce storm rolling in. Your girlfriend vanishes near an abandoned mine. You have replayed this night until the tape wore thin. Tonight, you take control, and tonight, you go further than the memory ever let you.'
In the demo, you begin your journey before everything truly falls apart. Explore, interact with the environment, search for clues, and take your first steps into the story of Buried Below. The full game will expand into a larger survival horror experience with exploration, secrets, multiple endings, and a dark.. not so empty.. place waiting Buried Below your feet.
The game is made by Aura Studios, a small Dutch indie studio led by me, Justus. It is built with help from a small group of talented artists, voice actors, musicians, playtesters and friends who helped bring the world to life. We care a lot about atmosphere, storytelling, small details, and making games that feel personal.

If you try the demo, I would love to hear what you think. Comments, feedback, videos, streams, and wishlists all help a small indie project like this more than you probably realize.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy stepping into the memory.

Hey everyone!
I'm excited to share a game called Mothlight for free on itch! This game was made for a game-jam called "Themed Horror Game Jam #20" which is hosted by Beregon and Raeleus.
Quick summary:
In Mothlight you venture into a dark and cold forest at night to photograph a rare moth species for your research. But something in the dense forest doesn’t like your presence. Listen for faint shimmers and watch for traces of magic dust on the trees to find and photograph the moths, but be careful. Use your flashlight wisely, but don't shine at IT for too long...
Story:
"You went into a forest at night to photograph a rare moth species for your research. With the night being dark and cold, you scour the trees for moths. But it seems something in the dense forest doesn't like your presence. Will you make it out alive?"

I'm excited to share our newest game called The Motel on itch! Currently discounted for the early birds at 30% it costs 1,39 USD! Any and all profits will go directly into making bigger and better games in the future. We hope you enjoy and will make sure to read every single comment.
Quick summary:
In The Motel, you're a late night employee at a quiet roadside stop near Oakhill Grove. What begins as a routine shift, completing tasks, serving guests, and petting the lobby cat, soon turns into a fight for survival when a news broadcast warns of a dangerous figure nearby. With multiple endings, this 40 to 60 minute light horror game combines ambient tension, jump scares, and humor, leaving fate in your hands.
Story:
"You're an employee on a late night shift at The Motel, an old, quiet roadside stop just before the big city in Oakhill Grove. Your job is simple enough: keep things in order and handle what needs doing until morning. At first, the night seems like any other, but a news broadcast crackling through the radio changes everything. There's someone dangerous roaming the outskirts of Oakhill Grove. Will you make it through the night shift, or will The Motel become your final stop?"

Agreed,
Definitely, felt great to play and I could indeed find a consistent way to dodge etc. So it wasn't unbalanced in that way at all, I think the ramp was indeed just super significant because of the amount of bosses. But for the amount of time you got, even having 3 bosses surprised me, I thought it was just one! Again, great job!
