its good! Can't wait to finish it when its out!

I'll go first to start things off.

I've got my foreward/author's note, prologue and chapter 1 completed. I have detailed notes for chapters 2 and 3 and brief notes for chapters 4 , 5 and epilogue.  I also have a wip cover art I am still fiddling with.

We've reached the halfway point for November and Zandra and I are wondering how everyone is doing with their submissions.

If you want to let us know below how your work is going and possibly you're what you've achieved so far on your personal roadmap!

A previous years questions thread: Questions Thread - Light Novelber 2018 community - itch.io
You might find your question answered here, that said any answers to rules/submissions based questions from previous years are subject to change.

Feel free to ask questions here or on the twitter #LightNovelber2021

If you want to do more with your entry try the program caliber (epub manager), it can also be used to publish pdfs and epubs (works best if you import a word-doc/gdoc instead of a pdf. It can also beautify the upload as part of the conversion process and it makes adding cover art really easy.

Removed a submission and participate that did not appear to meet jam criteria. Entry  appears to have spam joined multiple jams for exposure.

All cats!

(but especially the cats who recognize me as friend and greet me on the street)

Detailing any mod actions taken e.g. removing submissions that are harmful, using our jam for exposure without trying to meet our criteria or  malware etc

shouldn't remove you from having done the jam so i say do it

holy crap so many entries! it is going to take even me forever to get through them all!

Zandra seemed somewhat interested in the help last I checked, "Oh nice! I have an editor in mind but it never hurts to know more!"

her actual position is kinda nebulous

her "breed" is an egyptian mau :P

A goddess on the board.

Banned user:  raruku777 and removed both of their spam entries for not meeting Jam criteria and spam entering every possible itch.io jam.

she really is.

It is ok for a submission , however it will be be ineligible to be selected for the potential anthology.  - Ashlyn & Zandra

The story should be roughly PG-13 .
"we were shooting for all ages/PG sort of thing for the anthology like can totally be mature, just no open lewdness or violence or swearing and such" - Zandra

We want both adults and teens to be able to enjoy these stories.

Sure, but It may be best if you compile them in a single submission, a mini anthology of your own, to not crowd the submissions for others.

The secret is in the beans, beans so soft and springy but we must not touch.

they might own a warehouse near their main office where the same rules apply , it is up to you to sell the idea with your writing ;)

For the sake of a potential anthology we have (Zandra and co) decided that the world is basically our own e.g. humans,  normal animals and our time period).

But there is room for exception to a degree,  if folks wanna run with a wild idea, they should go for it (knowing that it's less likely to be considered for the collection), also with the added detail that stories can be set pretty much anywhere in time when an office building would make sense, like with the neat concept of a 50's take on it or in the future (within reason), that can easily fall into "Cali Co history" sort of thing.

if you can tie it back so it actually fits with the setting and could work as "one story in the same building everyone's writing about" then sure, the goal is a shared setting, so if you can make it work there, yes.

So you can also write about a company that is being contracted by Cali Co (helping with IT, manufacturing, cleaning  or  furnishing the office) or has leased out office space in Cali Co's main building or maybe a Company that is working together with Cali Co and you have been sent there as part of a Liaison team.

Thank you! this has really encouraged me, currently behind schedule on finishing this one due the soul sapping summer heat but I will get to it tomorrow!

Thank you!  :3

I'm not sure if you will be able to submit it to the jam since it has closed but you are more than welcome to say you did it for the jam, since the jam was about starting things.

I'm definitely looking forward to the rest! Keep up the good work!
