Deathlord Relorded community · Created a new topic Armor

Hey,

Question about how armor works. The original manual is very vague and I didn't see anything mentioned in Documentation.md. I started to assume that lower AC was better, as everyone's AC was dropping as I was levelling up/equipping gear (that, or there was some armor durability mechanic and everything was degrading). I looked up an old D&D Version 1 ruleset that appears to confirm this behavior.

However, I'm still not sure how much, if any, impact the armor is having. I will do something that I would intuitively presume to be an upgrade, upgrading from a Medium Shield to a Great Shield on a Senshi, but I don't see the AC change. In fact, I've saved and then unequipped items just to see if the AC would change, but it never seems to.

Essentially, I would appreciate any insight into how armor and AC work, if you have any.

Thank you again,

Alex

Hello,

It seems that spells will start to not  be recognized properly after 30ish minutes of uninterrupted playing, meaning no reboots of any kind. I'll try to cast a spell in battle and it will just say "no such spell," even using macros outside of battle this will be the case. So far, a reboot (Alt+R, not having to close the entire application) appears to fix this, so it's not incredibly disruptive with this workaround, as getting back in the game only takes a few seconds.

Thanks,

Alex

I've noticed this as well, but I'm not able to tie it to any behavior, it seems that certain battles just result in instant death. I had initially assumed that monsters get some sort of first turn initiative bonus and if they get a high enough roll they just crit everyone, but I'm not sure. Luckily, it seems like rebooting always brings you to right before the encounter and usually the fight will play out normally the second time around.

Deathlord Relorded community · Created a new topic Audio

Hey,

I didn't see anything about audio in Documentation.md and I see that the original key command for Toggle Sound (Alt + S) is now the save state/Backup Game Image. Is there sound? I've turned it up quite a bit louder than YouTube videos and system sounds, but don't get anything during battles, which I would expect would likely be one of the only/few places it would exist.

If there isn't currently audio, is there any plan to implement it? I'm not sure how difficult it would be to code in, but I'd actually be interested at trying my hand in making some music for this as well (assuming it was good/liked enough to be included, of course).

Thanks!

Alex

Rikkles, there were three more questions I had (one bug, one potential bug, and a question about the mechanics). Would you prefer to have all these lumped in one post or in separate posts, so that they could potentially be easier to find for anyone with similar questions? Thank you!

Wow, thanks for getting back to me so fast.

It was the scale/text size, great call. I had changed the resolution to the appropriate 1920x1080, but hadn't considered the scaling/text size.

Thank you so much, I played a few hours last night just using the original interface as a workaround, which really highlights how much work has gone into this project.

Thank you again!

Hello,

As the title states, I'm not getting the full GUI in Windows 11, the screen looks like this for me, preventing me from getting full party information or being able to read signs without switching to the original interface:

Please let me know if other information is needed; would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Thanks,

Alex
