This time I’d like to show you my custom build system for Unity — an alternative to Build Profiles. It’s a very specialized tool, but it can save a lot of time if your workflow involves creating many builds, or if your team needs to manage different content from the same project across multiple platforms or regions. It also helps keep things organized, since you can define your own logic to automatically control where and how builds are stored.

Hey everyone,

Today I want to share with you how I save my games. It’s a modular save system based on JSON, capable of saving any data: player stats, settings, inventory, custom objects, etc. And it includes optional AES encryption for added security.

The goal was simplicity: You can save or load any object with a single line of code. I ended up packaging it as a Unity tool and uploaded it to Itchio in case it’s helpful for anyone:

Actually, I consider the product to be quite complete already, as I mainly sell code. In this case, the interface is just a means to showcase the system’s capabilities.

However, if the goal is reached, I’ll be more than happy to implement the most frequently mentioned suggestions in the comments, such as offering a much more polished example interface.

I have many tools saved over the years and ideas I want to bring to life that I believe could be very helpful to others. So understandably, I’ll be motivated to keep publishing and improving if I see my efforts being rewarded.
