Ok I can confirm that the mode isnt the issue since I have been able to get the special ending in awake mode. Also for future people who might also get stuck looking for the 3rd disk, its in the room with "mother". You don't say sorry at the final question and you keep entering the room until you are given enough time to grab the items in the top left drawer and bottom drawer.

UPDATE: I have been able to beat the game on normal (Nightmare) and I think I was soft locked because of a bug when I tried the first time. My theory is based on the fact It is possible to open one of the heartbreak doors without a key. My theory is once that happens, I think it messes up the ability to get the 3rd disk from room with mother in it. I am going to test this on my Awake save to confirm. It is also possible the Awake mode itself is the cause, but I am not sure about that.

I am currently stuck and can't make progress and I would love to be able to check my progress against someone else's. While I doubt someone just secretly has a guide on hand, I would like to figure out if what might I be missing or if I have just some sort of softlock / bug preventing my progress. I have gotten 2 of the rose discs for the rose box. I have gone through all of the doors on the 3rd floor, expect for the locked door by the mirror.  I don't know what to do with Mother and I don't know if I need to kill the massive zombie or not to progress. I talked to the demon in the basement but I can't figure out how to get the key for the final door. Anyone know what I should do?

I can confirm that some of the bugs Reid mentioned are still hanging around as of the most recent update 0.9.9u.  Here are the bugs I have encountered so far:

  • The menu bug with the inventory
  • The blood type bug
  • The ladder that shows up after interacting with the painting is non interactive for me as well
  • The office locking after you used the key on it
  • The blackscreen after dying in the graveyard
  • Auto casting bless whenever you enter the room with mother
  • I also encountered a bug that wasnt mentioned above where slain vampires still reappear even after you shoot them with a rose bullet

I am also stuck since I don't know how to make progress. I can't use any of my items and I have no idea how to deal with mother. I was able to find the big zombie in the graveyard, but I don't know how to defeat it since my weapons break after a single swing. Besides the zombie, the mirror with the eye icon is non interactive for me, and since I still have the auto bless bug I can't really deal with mother on my most recent save, and I don't know how to deal with her anyway. Its unclear to me if I can't progress because of bugs or because I missed something.  I will take a break for now until I can determine if I am softlocked or not.

EDIT: I was softlocked because I blessed the mother and so it kept auto blessing, preventing me from getting the 3rd ring. It is also possible to open one of the rooms without getting the key at all. All of the above mentioned bugs I found in my Awake playthrough, in case that matters. I havent figured out how to get ending z so I am going to have to look into that more.

That's incredible! (The Rocket Jumping to save the run, not almost getting soft locked). Something to fix in future if this gets continued further.

If you were playing in browser, then a lot of things are invisible for some reason. This issue doesn't show up with the downloaded version where everything is visible as expected. Thank you for playing the game!

If you were playing the browser version, currently it is broken since it doesn't show anything besides lampposts for some reason. I think it is because of a setting I changed with the camera but I am not sure. Regardless, thank you for playing the game and giving feedback!

The lesson I am taking from this and other comments is don't put off tutorialization until the last minute and find ways to communicate how the game works. I didn't put in things like button prompts or a clear tutorial into the game and the game isn't intuitive enough for people to figure out how it works without outside info. I plan to work on this some more in the future after I do some practice projects first. Once I do, I want to add more information to make the game less confusing. Thank you for playing the game and giving feedback!

A reoccurring theme I am hearing from the feedback and criticism I have been hearing is that the game is confusing and doesn't explain itself at all. There is a lot of simple UI inclusions and basic tutorialization I should do to make the game less confusing. I was so focused on getting the game to work I neglected to communicate how the game works effectively to the player. The fact that the note isn't scaled correctly for the screen doesn't help things. Thank you for playing and I am glad you gave it a shot!

Thank you! Our team is thinking about working on this game further. I definitely think we can make it into a much more functional, much less confusing, much more entertaining experience with enough time and effort!

That is understandable since I didn't create a tutorial to explain how to buy and place turrets and barricades. The browser was working a few days ago but when I made the build last night it ended up being completely broken unfortunately. Thank you for playing regardless and Thank you for giving feedback!

You can buy turrets from the buy menu if you press tab. I didn't make that clear at all in the intro. I will keep the sensitivity point in mind for future improvements. Thank you for playing the game and giving feedback!

Congrats on the win!

Thank you! It has been really cool seeing other people play the game. Its been teaching me alot!

thank you!
