Love the art, music and writing. I agree with rightdress that the Disney World scene is a standout. I appreciate that the game is a linear story but the player is given the choice whether to engage with each NPC or not. I'm wondering if there will be more minigames like keeping the beehive steady. Also I wish the text box didn't cover so much of the gorgeous background art, and perhaps the font could be slightly more interesting (it's currently very readable however, so I don't want to discount that).
Great job all around and can't wait to play the full game.
I love the thoughtfulness put into the visual and audio aesthetics. The tornado disaster card is simple but eye-catching — effective. I'm a little worried about the complexity of the gameplay design. It feels like high barrier to entry for a first-time player with the number of variables, even though the mechanics do seem similar to other strategy card games. I'm also wondering if the disasters will be related to what affects a specific real-world region, or if they could be anything. Perhaps narrowing the types of disasters, and thus structures the player can build, might help focus the game and call to actions more. Looking forward to playing this!
This is a cute idea that highlights both an emerging technology and the people buy-in needed for any community- or larger-level structural change. I wonder about the potential of aquaponics for large-scale sustainable agriculture, however. Will the recruitment dialogue reflect the current state of aquaponics research and industry, which seems to still be unsure about viability?
I'm very intrigued by the walking sim within a comic panel gameplay. It feels unique. I'm curious about what specific climate-related events the region will deal with, and if you can mimic long-term impact of certain repeated language around climate within a short game. Looking forward to trying this out.
I appreciate that your game is rooted in specific real-life context and challenges. I like the idea of alternating phases, which seems to offer immediate feedback to choices the player just made. The elevator pitch seems to indicate there are certain correct choices. I'm wondering if there will be pros and cons of the various potential projects. Additionally, the scope seems large with multiple distinct gameplay mechanics, even if they work together to tell a cohesive story. Looking forward to trying this out!
