Hi Olivia, sorry we already have a sound designer/composer, but I'd love to team up for another jam in the future!

Hey, the more the merrier! Do you have a Discord I could contact you on?
You can contact me at black_emperor

Hey, I'd be interested in teaming up if you're still looking for a team!

My discord is black_emperor

Awesome, did you have a Discord I could reach you at?

Hello, my name is Black_Emperor and I’m looking for 2D/3D artists to join my team. So far it’s myself (designer, programmer), an artist and a composer and we’re looking to expand!

We’re looking to develop something in Unity in a slightly oddball fantasy setting. I’m more than happy to share what I know about Unity and game development to anyone who is looking to learn more.

You can reach out to me on discord at black_emperor or reply to this post :)

Thanks for playing, and I’m glad you liked it! Great to hear that you went for multiple endings! I’ll be sure to revisit and touch up the game a bit more after the jam.

Hello! Myself (designer, coder) and my friend (artist) are looking for 2D artists to join our team. We have experience making games in Unity and RPG maker, and are looking to develop something in RPG Maker for this jam.

We’d love someone who can do character designs, and I’m more than happy to try and teach you what I know about coding/RPG maker if you’d like!

If you’re interested please reply here or contact me at Discord: black_emperor

Thanks for the feedback!

There was definitely a lot of CRPG inspiration with the game, we tried to be more dialogue and interaction focused rather than combat-focused. From a developer point of view, doing all the state management in RPG Maker events is pretty difficult, hence why some of the quests are quite simple.

We had hopes to give more opportunities for followers, but ran out of time in the end. The time system was designed to encourage multiple playthroughs but in the end we needed to tune it up a bit more, as a lot of the mechanics are too gated, we originally hoped to have a job available at all points of the day, but that fell through :(

I’m glad you enjoyed all the optional characters and stuff to do. That was definitely one of our goals, we wanted the player to be able to choose and make choices that actually affected their play through and the world around them (player race, followers, training, etc)

Thanks again for playing! If you have any questions please let me know!

Thank you for playing and streaming!

We're hoping to do more things with this setting in the future! If you have any questions, please feel free to write to us :)

Hi! Thanks for the review! I appreciate the criticism, and hope to address alot of it.

Admittedly, we had planned for a lot more in regards to things to do (originally had options to train stats, different jobs, etc) but we had to cut a great deal of it by the end of the jam. Some features (bandits, etc) were only half done by the time we submitted. Regarding job balance, there are a total of three jobs in the game, the mines, the customs house during the daytime, and the customs house at night. If you are an Avarga (big crab race), you will get paid extra at the mine, otherwise, the night-time customs house pays the best, at the cost of max HP. I do agree though that the money from the customs house should be increased, and more jobs would help.

As for Tilesets, we realised early on it would probably be really difficult to get the custom tilesets for each of the areas done in time, so we decided to go with other assets instead. I would have preferred to go with full custom tiles but half-custom, half-premade tiles would have looked out of place and not meshed well together. Going forward I would push for more custom tiles, but we simply didn't have enough time :(

A big thing we could have done before we submitted was more hints as to followers, and more methods to get them. There was going to be alternate methods of getting some of the followers, but towards the end I ran out of time and was worried about breaking something last second.

We hope to have an updated release after the conclusion of the game jam with fixes to these issues and clarification with player options.

Thanks for playing!

Hi all, thanks these posts have now been filled!

I'm leading a team looking for a 2D artist and Musician to assist with a fantasy Adventure project.

Artists-
Currently we have an artist who is focusing on world sprite work and would love someone to assist with character faces, as well as spritework, tilework and whatever strikes your fancy. The setting contains no humans, and is only populated with non-human races, and it could be a good opportunity to draw something unique!

Musicians-
We're looking for a musician or sound-designer who can create some interesting sound-scapes. We're looking for some more ambient/low-key songs and sound-scapes (similar to some of the music in Fallout 1 + 2, Planescape torment, etc)

Both roles are encouraged to experiment and provide creative input into the game, as there will be plenty of opportunities to write and develop some of your own characters and dialogues if you'd like!

Please contact me at black_emperor on Discord, or at baylee@ack-ack.com

Thanks!
