Gooooood! Both actually! You can play the game until you win, and after that you can continue in an endless mode (and there's an essence item that allows for a second ending but that's a whole other thing)!

Excellent point! I never considered that for some reason, but I'd be happy to buy them online! The DS always looked really slick to me, too. It's nice to have a consistent conversation like this. I don't usually feel compelled to talk to anyone this much, but occasionally I meet someone who brings it out of me for whatever reason. 🤷‍♂️ It's really cool when communities like that stick around for so long, isn't it? I like how RPG Maker is still bringing people together.

You bet I was! 😎 No problem! Ah, I foolishly deleted a lot of my oldest ones (which I thoroughly regret now), but some of the newer ones I kept thankfully! At some point I'm considering releasing some of the ones I don't feel like finishing as prototypes. Just so they don't sit in a folder forever, ya know? My younger self definitely would be! The poor guy spent years working on projects that never got finished, so he'd be happy to know I finally figured out what to do! 😁

Nintendo's portable consoles are the best, so nice to play and their games are so "cozy", and yes I can confirm the DS was great! True, and yes same for me. When I open Itch.io and see a notification that said you replied, it makes me happy😁. Yes definitely and I'm sure the RPG Maker lineage is far from over with games like Omori and Fear&Hunger seeing huge successes, and I'm pretty sure it's thanks to these RM engines that other have seen the light of days like RPG in a box. So, a big thanks to RPG Maker😘

Haha! Yeah same I deleted a lot of old ones but it's nice that you still have some, and yes good idea to either release them as remakes or just the way they are, as a piece of your own history. Oh, it's simple actually. Just like you, as a teen, I loved wathing Let's Play but the French ones were... not great to say the least. So I began to listen to English Youtubers and by listening to them over and over again I learned at my own pace. It also helped me alot when searching for tutorial and other things since they were a lot more common in English, and I find English pleasant to listen to! I still have a lot of progress to make and still use Google from time to time to correct myself when writing things! But please, oh please, never ask me to speak english, my accent is awful!!!🤢

The same can be said for English! It has some goofy exceptions that make no sense, too. Most languages probably have that in common honestly, which is what makes them so interesting! Good to know! I might take ya up on that offer later!

It's probably pretty common for devs to do that, unfortunately. Sometimes it's easy to be very critical of the early stuff, even though as you say they're what allow you to make the better games later anyway! Just one of those lessons certain devs gotta learn the hard way, I suppose. 🤷‍♂️ Aw! Little Pancake! Now I wanna make that into a character, cuz it sounds so cute. 😆

I guess I can't use the same method to learn French if the English YouTubers are more fun to watch! 😜 That's cool though! And it makes sense that it would be helpful for tutorials and things like that. You're doing great! And that's okay, I don't mind French accents! But I also understand being embarrassed, cuz I feel the same about my accent when speaking French.

Oh yeah, I'm curious to know what 'poulet rôti' actually means in English (I know I could look this up, but I'd rather ask you)... My guess is either 'roast chicken' or 'rotisserie chicken'. Am I right? Also I'm interested to know what inspired that name in the first place (unless it's as simple as you just really like chicken so you made it your name 😋 which is basically the reason for my name).

Yeah true, languages are weird!! We have the chance that our two languages have some similarities and even some common words wich can make things easier to understand and learn.

Good point! And even though I haven't watched any French gaming channels yet, I do actually have a couple of French ASMR channels I listen to. I don't study them too closely though, since it plays in the background while I'm working on stuff. Yeah, I know what you mean. Which is why most of the time I'm just happy to make it through another day!

Yeah, basically I just called myself '8Pancakes4Lunch' because I enjoy eating pancakes for lunch. AtePancakesForLunch is a bit long though, so I thought it looked better with numbers instead (kinda too bad 1984 isn't my birth year, cuz that would've worked out perfectly, but I'm about a decade late for that to apply)! Sorry to steal your conversation piece from ya. I knew it! And what a glorious dev name it is! 🍗 Actually that makes me wonder if you're going to make a game about roast chicken at some point. I haven't really made a game about pancakes yet... Pancakes of the Future is the closest thing so far, but it's mostly not about pancakes!

If you know the words baguette, croissant and pain au chocolat, you can speak French almost fluently!

Yeah a hug never hurt, such a simple gesture that can warms hearts and gives the feeling of being loved! Could be a fun idea for a game actually, maybe a human guiding ghosts to the afterlife with the help of love😄

Yep! That's right, it's kind of a deckbuilding game in that sense. Normally I'm not a big fan of strategic gameplay, but LBAL is simple enough that I don't feel like I ever have to think too hard about it, but at the same time it's challenging enough that the gameplay doesn't get stale!

Absolutely! I find ASMR very soothing! Sure, I'd be happy to give you some recommendations! I'll give you a couple English ones and a couple French ones to give you some options: ASMR KALI & Alinéa ASMR are two French creators I like. Goodnight Moon & Gibi ASMR are two American ones. Oh and don't worry if it doesn't appeal to you right away! It took some time for me to get used to it, and some people don't get any sensation from ASMR in the first place.

Speaking of which, I replayed Le Voyage d'une rêveuse and translated it the whole way through, which I'm very glad I did! It was lovely to understand it better.
