Neat tower defense game! The idea of your resource for buying/upgrading your unit being the same as your health is a great way of naturally building in risk/reward. I found the difficulty a bit off as the early game is pretty difficult since you start with fairly low money and one dragon isn't enough to kill everything on its own. But then it gets very easy very quickly, before the steep ramp up at the end. So difficulty felt all over the place for most of the time. That said, I really enjoyed playing it and strategically placing/upgrading my units. So awesome job!

I played this for an hour straight and got a high score of 11:22, that's all I need to say
I really love this game. I love the brutal difficulty curve, the risky HP = resources system, the weird SFX, everything about it honestly. There's a bug where once you game over the text disappears, and if you restart to try again then the timer continues from before. I failed my first few tries from not understanding the controls, but once I got the hang of it, I looked at the timer, saw 7:30, and thought oh, this is a cakewalk and I closed the tab thinking it was another jam game balanced on the too-easy side and it would be impossible to game over. Then I read the comments, realized that wasn't the case, and set out to try again... only to keep getting obliterated before the 7 minute mark.
I had no idea what I did that previous time and how I was so good until I realized, it must have been from the timer continuing after a game over! It was really probably only a few minutes into that run. (Yes I can't tell time.) Anyway, this game is super satisfying, really fun, and really addicting--it's hard to resist wanting to keep trying!
Yeah, the balancing was difficult. Ultimately I tried to tune it to around 10 minutes if you’re really good, since it’s an endless game and figuring that most people aren’t going to care to play a jam game for too long. Trying to make people feel engaged like they were making meaningful decisions while also reward good decisions was difficult. Especially since I really only had the last two hours for balancing lol.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I enjoyed playing! I liked the sound fx and the fact that the dragon eggs were already placed in zones so you could just focus on choosing the dragon type
Fun tower dense game. I noticed some sort if bug where I am unable to purchase a dragon when the cost is equal to my total gold. Other than that, it works well. Keep up the good work.
Love a tower defense; very impressive to make one that works this well within this short time limit! Coupling the health and currency together (as many people have already stated) was very clever.
Really fun to play lol. Love the soundeffects, especially the dogs. Would be playing it all the time if i had it on mobile :p
It was cool, the idea of hatching different dragons with the eggs was nice, just wasn't really sure what was the condition to lose
Lol the sounds are funny. Great little tower defender! I liked the red fire dragon the most. His attack felt the most satisfying and visceral even in the minimalist form. It was pretty easy, until it wasn't! I lost instantly after about 4 minutes they overwhelmed me. Nice work! I had fun
Thank you! Most of the SFX was done myself with my mic. Anything else was made quickly in JFXR.
And yeah, the red dragon AOE attack is the most visually appealing. Probably could have spend more time masking VFX for the others but started getting close the end of the time limit lol.
Also, it’s tuned to have a basically auto-fail state at around 10 minutes in if you’re reeeaally good (figured most people aren’t playing a game jam game to vote for longer than that). The difficulty ramps up quick.
Thank you for playing!
it a classic tower defender, the use of the limitation give it a little twist, that cause a "negative" dificulty system(i mean your the mistakes basically pile up and blow in your face)
The "money being health" mechanic was an interesting use of the limitation. At first I thought it was too easy, upgraded a bunch of dragons, then looked away to answer a text. I look back and I am being absolutely swarmed with dwarves! Fun game. Nice work!
