Good submission! Like mitosis idea, but shame that this can happen only once (I wish I could fill my screen wih my cells)

Developer

Yeah that was the intention, but unfortunately there was a small error where the object reference goes away after that first click

Nice submission! I would love to see you update the game after the jam. Maybe add a cooldown for the firing of bullets and add some more mutation options. Also would be nice to have some sound effects. Congratulations on submitting!

Developer

Definitely planning on doing so!

While not embracing the mutation theme perse into its actual gameplay, but instead the underlying sprite theme, the game manages to offer a decent "idle-shooter" experience, as seen in many games, offering upgrades (could technically be interpreted as mutation) after every so and so enemies.
Sadly some mechanics appear to be a little buggy, unbalanced and due to missing restrictions on the delay between individual bullets shot the game looses any challenge that comes with it, at least as far as I can tell.
Still a decent game, managing a decent implementation of the theme while still coming up with a - in theory - interesting gameplay loop.

Developer

Thank you for your detailed review, I definitely agree with the buggy mechanics and unbalanced environment, if I had a bit more time I would have gone back and worked on that, unfortunately, my time constraints were extremely cut off. There were a lot of ideas that were not implemented because of time constraints, plans for more upgrades, more randomness, but at the least I probably should have made more progression on the enemies other than the 3 types that exist currently. Thanks for the review!
