Fanfic questions

hey I'm working on a fanfic and I have a quick question:

The hotel is a place of healing right? So if somebody comes to the hotel sick with an infection or a disease, do the microscopic life forms causing the sickness inside them immediately die upon the guests arrival? but if that does happen do they still have to recover over a period of time from the damage the illness caused? Or can the illness within them persist as it would normally do in the normal world? Do the guests living in the hotel have to worry about a new guest bringing in some kind of plague? Or does the protective barrier around the statue of Hades cure the disease of anyone who enters?

The labyrinth at it's foundation is a place of torture. It heals Asterion, so that it can hurt him again. Outside of that, I'm afraid there is no such magical healing properties. The whole "place of healing" thing is more a wish Asterion has to help those who get lost.

The wine that heals Asterion either has no effect on others or is a lethal poison to them. I forget which is the case. In the ruthless route there is one such lethal poison Argos helped confect, but it's been a long time since I've read that. Not sure if that was just an elaborate job to get another bottle of the wine to summon faster.

Hm, that makes sense. And it will allow me to extend the recovery time for my character. Although I had hoped to receive confirmation from the games creators before committing to it, I will use your information to proceed. Thank you for letting me know.馃憤

The Hotel's rules (through the contracts the masters signed over the centuries) are a mess of makeshift things piled up on top of each other. When it comes to this point in particular, previous masters made it so that most (but not all) life could not reproduce above the cliff wall. That's why, very specifically and since the first build, we make a point of saying that there was no fungi/mold in the hotel when the player arrived. This doesn't affect beneficial gut bacteria, FYI.

That is to say, if someone has an infection when they reach the hotel it'll stop multiplying in them and recede. Some conditions may be cured by this, while others would only go into remission.

I have to wonder how that rule came about at first. Like, would they know to spare the beneficial bacteria beforehand? Where there any casualties because of that? How far back could that rule have been implemented for the scientific knowledge necessary be available at the time?

Oh my gosh an actual response from the Creator!

Dude that's actually really informative, and it will enable my character to have laryngitis for days after arriving at the hotel. This will make my story work great! Thank you for replying!

But I got to ask, Asterion said that some Masters have had kids at the hotel and some of them that used to ride on his shoulders grew up to be his Masters. Is human reproduction possible in the hotel or were the children conceived outside the hotel?

Developer

Human reproduction is possible. They left some exceptions to the rule.

I don't mean to put you on the spot like this but, what about mythical reproduction? Is that allowed? If you choose to answer this question then it could have serious and lasting consequences on the writing of future plot points in this VN, & many future fanfics. So, if you choose to leave this question unnswered for now, then I will understand.

Developer

If you're asking if mythicals can reproduce in the hotel, then the answer is yes. They can, just the same as humans.

If you're asking how mythicals reproduce, that's a longer answer and I can get to it later today if that's what you want.

I wasn't asking how but, "a longer answer"? Don't they just do the deed like humans do? Now you've got me questioning things. Now I would like to know and I'm sure there are others who would also like to know.

Developer(+2)

Sorry for taking a while, I was busy with irl stuff.

In short, some mythicals originate from humans being modified to be more animal-like, and some were animals modified to be more human-like.

P and Argos, for example, both originate from lineages of humans who were transformed. As such they can still have kids if they pair up with humans,  and sometimes the "mythical gene" can skip a generation.

Meanwhile Themba and the grootslangs do not descend from humans in any way, so they can't have kids with humans.

That's what I meant for the longer answer.

Humans can transform into mythicals? That raises a whole heap of questions but the biggest of all is what happens if the owner of the hotel is transformed into a mythical? do they immediately lose the status of Hotel owner and the hotel remain without an owner until another human is chosen?

Going by the Constitution, there's no requirement that the master be human, only that ownership may only be transfered to someone born of human parents.  The Master could probably test whether or not Oscar's dad was human by attempting to pass the hotel to him.

that's a very interesting thought, I wonder how else they could test that.

how many sex sceens are there?

im in chapter 15 i have only seen one nsfw sceen with luke can someone let me know if theres more and if you get a choice on top or bottom?

At the time there are no more "Luke" scenes specifically, as the creators haven't finished his routes just yet. But without being too spoilery, there are more scenes to be found.
