A while ago I did some YouTube Shorts where I talked about games that you could complete in under 30 minutes on itch.io.

Recently, I created a YouTube Short that highlights an asset pack I have available on itch.io

Here are the views comparing the gaming shorts vs. the asset short:

The shorts where I talked about games has a cute vtuber in the thumbnails. You will notice that my best performing short outdid the asset video by a wide margin.

To be honest, I think creating videos about games that feature my assets would likely be the best option, for a few reasons:

1. People could see the assets in action, instead of them just existing in a void

2. As the numbers illustrate, people who aren't game devs will be more interested in games (which anyone can play) than tools for games. Their viewership could boost my videos in the algorithm to reach more game devs

3. If game devs know I am likely to make a video about their game if they use my assets, they will be motivated to use atleast some of my art in their projects

Good thinking. But you are still below the magic 300 on youtube. (If they still use that magic number).

It is basically nothing in social media figures.

You might be able to engage some of your followers in some poll with a devlog or something like that. Itch has no poll ability, has it? But I saw devs do something like that, probably with external tools to collect a poll from the players interested enough to vote.

Some questions would be, where they would like to see your assets available. Or how they noticed your's. Stuff like that.
