  5. Each time I attempted download, I get a different size file around 8gb and each time 7zip, WINRAR, and Windows builtin archive extractor says the arrchive is corrupt. Upon further inspection it seems not all of the file completed as it is a UE4 game but contains no executable and is possibly missing other files as well.
  6. Tried several browsers.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with these issues. Can we get an estimate on the time until fix? I have basically the same issue text as spamboxje1601.

Have had a hard time updating a few games, they would stall and restart after around 100 MB, most have eventually worked, accept Shards of God, updated about a week ago, just won't finish downloading.

Details:

Just an update for everyone. We are still testing and debugging. We just pushed out a configuration change that based on my testing seems to have alleviated the issue. Please do keep reporting if you are seeing issues though, as it will give me more pages to test.

I wrote a comment some Hours ago.

My Problem got solved and i can download without problems again.

If you guys did an update, Its Working !

I was able to download my games. Whatever you are doing it's working. 👍

Hey there :D.  I just received another report about downloads failing.  A customer tried to download this project multiple times and was met with slow download times, then it failed partway through each time.  Figured I should report it here in case it's related, as I haven't had reports of failed downloads until this month.

I hope not.

That region seems to have problems regularly. https://itch.io/t/3039327/images-are-not-loading-at-all-and-downloads-dont-work-...

This sounds like a system configuration issue, not a download issue. Your virus scanner may be defaulting to not trusting any executables downloaded off the internet.

Link to the affected game page- any game

Size of the file and filename you’re attempting to download- any size

Was the file recently uploaded? (If so, when?)- I don't know

Was the file uploaded using Butler? (This is only relevant for page owners) - I don't know

Your geographical location (if you’re comfortable sharing)- Usa

A brief summary of the issue - does the download cut out? Slow down? etc. - download normally until it reaches 20%. First download will slow down but, keeps downloading until 25% - 35%.

Are you downloading via the app or through your browser?- Chrome and internet explorer

Side note: tried to use alternate download mode but download never started when active

DiBS for Mac returns an error after decompressing the ZIP file. Upon opening, Mac OS Sonoma (14.1.2) identifies the file as damaged, and offers the option to trash the app or cancel attempting to open it. I am downloading using Chrome.

  6. File successfully downloads. Decompressing the ZIP produces an App file that Mac OS identifies as damaged, and refuses to open.
  7. Downloaded via Chrome on Mac OS Sonoma (14.1.2)

This is not a download issue. The file has downloaded successfully.

This error shown by macOS Gatekeeper when trying to run applications downloaded through your browser. The developer has not created a signed build with Apple so this is the warning generated.

Unless you want to disable Gatekeeper, we recommend installing games through our app: https://itch.io/app. It will allow you to run the game without changing any system settings.

  6. The download only cut off once. The issue is that 'zip' (as in the cli binary) says that the file has overhead at the end. After the error, when trying to run the game via double clicking the shell script from the extracted folder, nothing happens.

This isn’t a download issue, it sounds like you are’t familiar with how to extract and run a game downloaded from the internet.

If you use the itchio app, it will automatically manage the download for you: https://itch.io/app

Alternatively, since you already have the file downloaded, you can follow these instructions:

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file on your computer.
  2. Right-click on the file and select “Extract All…” or “Unzip…” from the context menu.
  3. Choose a destination folder where you want the extracted files to go and confirm the action.
  4. After extraction, open the destination folder and look for the game’s executable file (usually labeled as .exe for Windows) to start the game.

Make sure to extract all files before attempting to run the game, as running it directly from within the ZIP file can lead to errors.
