I am proud to announce that I hold the Beat 'Em High world record.

speedrun that title screen!

This may not be GOTY, but if NMOTY (NES Music Video Of The Year) were a thing, this would be a strong candidate for winner haha

This is non-interactive, right? It's super cool, the art and sound are great, just wish I could play it already XD

Developer

I wish everyone could play it too. Maybe I shouldn't have submitted it.

It's a great teaser for something big to come.  I know you have a gazillion things on the go, but I'm excited for when the time comes that you can start hammering away at this.

sorry, seams my frustration was showing xD

I got the street scene to scroll and then didn't come back to it for 2.5 months. Should have somehow left myself two weeks instead of one to work on it. It's fine. Once I finish the Orange Island conversion I'll be back to this one!

No sense dwelling over what can't be changed.  You were able to submit something which is better than anything I can personally say.  I know there isn't a lot going on with the demo per se, but the art assets and bit of layout you have going have a ton of potential down the road when you're ready for the next project!
