An alternative version of every map:
We're considering making an alternative version of each map, the main setting and layout of each map will remain the same.
So, in addition to the randomly selected weather changes, each map will have two distinct versions. This would force players to explore new routes and slightly adjust gameplay to keep the maps more surprising.
The alt version of the map could involve changes like: blocking or opening up paths, adding elements like snow, relocating ladders, changing spawn locations, opening different rooms or locking of certain rooms, change the flag location, or introducing new obstacles.
Some maps might see major changes between the original version and the alt version, while others will be more subtle.
Initially, we plan to randomly select the version of the map. Later, we may add an option in the map selection screen that allows you to choose which version of the map you'd like to play.
Here are a few possible examples for alt versions of the maps:
Alleys: a fire has burned down parts of the city, leaving rooftops scorched and debris-filled streets.
Arch: The spawn point is moved to the small building behind the courtyard.
Forts: The map is covered in snow, similar to what we have done before.
Arena: The setting of the battle in the arena could change, replacing the pit with different obstacles.
Hills: before the statue collapsed
Castles: The front gate is locked, but players can climb the walls using placed ladders, also players can enter the castle through the well.
Please keep in mind that these are initial concepts, and the specific changes will be determined as we work on them.
Our aim with this update is to introduce an element of unpredictability and variety to the maps we've all grown accustomed to.
